Your Questions About Internet Marketing Company

Linda asks…

What type of company is this?

Hi. I really want to start my own company and have financial freedom. My company would buy and build web property (websites) that seem as if they could do better, fix them up (adding content, marketing, design, etc.) to hopefully gain some profit from the sites revenue, and then sell the websites after six months. I know people do this, website flipping, but I would like to start a company that does it. I am great with internet marketing, and my good friend from college knows a lot about investing. He wants to partner with me on this company.

What type of company are we (private equity firm, venture capital firm, media company, etc.)? If someone asks us what type of company we own and run, what do we say? Legally, what type of company are we?

barry0912 answers:

Legally you don’t have a company until you register with the state in any of the following form;

1. Limited liability company or corporation
2. Partnership company (created under a partnership agreement)
3. Sole proprietor ( One man owner)

Once you have decided on the name for the company, you need to register the name of the company again with the state. A registered company name may be renewed after a number of years (each state is different).

Since you mentioned that your friend wants to partner with you, your company can be registered as a Partnership company with two partners. In a partnership you have a general partner and the rest are limited partners or junior partners.

Private equity firm is an investment firm pooling private funds to invest. The legal entity of a private equity firm is similar to the legal form mentioned above. Venture capital firm is similar to a private equity firm but with a shorter span of investment objectives. When you mention media company, you mean the industry, not the company. Media is an industry. Just like investment is an industry.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing News

Donna asks…

e-marketing?

What is it? how can use it? Im a REALTOR in San Antonio TX where do i go or what do i do to do this?

barry0912 answers:

This is from wikipedia…
“E-marketing is a type of marketing that can be defined as achieving objectives through the use of electronic communications technology such as Internet, e-mail, Ebooks, database, and mobile phone. It is a more general term than online marketing which is limited to the use of internet technology to attain marketing objectives.”

I would say everything from generating an e-newsletter (automatically sending them real estate news for your area or your business weekly or monthly, for example) to optimising your site for search engines to paid search engine ads to internet radio advertising would all be ways of e-marketing to prospective clients. And there are many more.

If you are thinking about marketing your real estate site (assuming you have one), online marketing & search engine optimization would be a good idea. Online marketing would take a long time to explain here. If you are interested in doing it yourself, check out seochat.com (that’s where I started several years ago & is still a good source of info). If you are looking for a professional web marketing solution, look around but be careful as there are many shady marketing companies out there (look for testimonials)… Or call us.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Blog

John asks…

Internet Marketing Ideas?

I own a small internet web maternity clothing shop. www.hautemamacouture.com I get almost no business to it at all. I tried paying for advertising with search engines but I had too small a budget (spent $100 on 4 different engines/month). I also have the same items in a store on eBay. That’s where I make 99% of my money. However, with their recent announcements of fee increases, they should just change their name to FeeBay and their changes to the feedback policy that will not allow a seller to leave negative when warranted, I can no longer afford to do business on there. I spend about $500-$1,000 in eBay fees a month but I make about $4,000 a month. How can I shift some of this around to promote my website. I am on a very limited budget and have no idea how to get people to go to this website and buy. Thanks!

barry0912 answers:

Hi April,

I’ve done a quick check on your incoming links, there were none. To have a great SEO score link building must be top priority for you. Rather have less quality incoming links than many lower ranked links.

Although not true SEO, a blog is highly recommended to achieve high traffic. A blog is great to build a brand, it may not result in instant sales but it sure will indirectly. Once you’ve begun a blog you can then submit it to several social bookmarking websites that will increase your traffic even further.

I’ve compared your site to your competitors and their websites have good keyword density, meta tags (not to important), incoming links. Your goal should be to match these sites and you’ll soon be receiving targeted traffic.

If done properly SEO can be managed with a small budget.

Lizzie asks…

who’s the internet marketing expert in the philippines?

im not speaking of LARGE companies, just persons who actually teach and apply what they teach in the Philippines

barry0912 answers:

That is a tough question and probably the reason for no answers yet. You can be the internet marketing expert in the Phillippines. Start a blog, read as many books on Internet Marketing you can get your hands on and start a few test websites and put your education to the test. Then you will have a portfolio of websites that are good examples of internet marketing. Good Luck!

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Strategies

Steven asks…

What kind of marketing strategy that apple follow to market their iPod and iPhone???

This question is always in my head and I need an answer. I really consider them the smartest company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

barry0912 answers:

The marketing strategy behind the ipod and iphone is ease of use, you can simply see and touch, and the all in one features, you don’t need anything else.. Your phone, pager, music, videos, are all in one. And you can access the Internet from it also. They have lots of memory so you won’t run out.. Most mp3’s etc have limited memory, they also target the young adults
although the 2nd answer has good points there are a few things that go against normal marketing methods, yes it’s people that sell things, but if the product is bad, no person can sell it. Products do sell themselves if they are marketed right. Ipod does not use a person to sell but the product instead. And being the first to market something is often the key to the products success. Being 1st and unique is easier than being 2nd and trying to compete with the first product. And people don’t buy products simply because they are surprised, they buy for different reasons, need, desire, price, are all considerations. The 2nd answerer lists selling techniques for salespeople not marketing methods for manufacturers

Chris asks…

define marketing?

barry0912 answers:

If your definition of “marketing” embraces Internet “marketing,” then read the following strategy.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text, is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which should consist of no more than 65 characters separated by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the “Description” which is usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – “Keywords” are also somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which is defined as the loading, and submission of repetitive words into a particular metatag category. “Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the elimination of your website from their search directory.

Here’s an example of a very highly-placed website on Yahoo.com: Begin with the search query “pizza downtown los angeles.” It will bring up some 1.4 million+ websites as results. Check out where “Pizza Next Door” is ranked. It’s in the Top Five! Again, Pizza Next Door’s high web presence was achieved by proper web design and placement of relevant metatags according to Yahoo’s publication guidelines.

Good luck!

Internet

when it comes to your internet marketing campaign, the net is full of potential snags. Emerge unscathed by avoiding these 7 deadly sins
Entrepreneur, Jan, 2006 by Catherine Seda
THE INTERNET is always in motion. That’s both good news and bad news: You can immediately change your online marketing campaigns to produce better results, but your results can also take a nose dive if you’re not paying attention. Protect your campaigns from these costly mistakes:

1. LOSING AD TRACKING CODE: If a previously profitable ad campaign tanks, find out if your site pages embedded with ad tracking code have been accidentally replaced. Remind your web team to download site pages from the server before working on them.

2. FALLING TO REMOVE OUTDATED OFFERS: Keep track of your special promotions so you can replace the copy on any online campaign you’re running as well as the ad’s corresponding landing page.

3. MISSING DEFERRED ACTIONS: Not all prospects click on your ad and take action right away. Set your cookie length or your ad tracking solution’s settings for a minimum of 30 days to properly credit marketing sources.

4. IGNORING SUSPICIOUS CLICKS: Study the log files in your traffic reports if you notice a sudden spike from your pay-per-click campaigns. You might need to fix your campaigns, remind team members not to click your ads, or address competitors engaging in click fraud.

5. FORGETTING TO MONITOR COMPETITORS: When competitors change their offers, yours may no longer be compelling. Watch your marketing space to respond quickly with your own new promotions and maintain your lead flow.

6. NOT OPTIMIZING OFFERS: Stop running the same marketing message! Improve your campaign performance and reach new customers by continuously testing innovative offers. You’ll also maintain your competitive edge.

7. OVERLOOKING YOUR CONVERSION RATES: A tiny increase in your website conversion rate can make your revenue and profits skyrocket, so don’t focus exclusively on your marketing campaigns. Your site also plays a critical role in your marketing performance.

In your quest to grow your business by using internet marketing, respond to any warning signs, and maximize your current campaigns before you initiate new ones. You’ll improve your bottom line without spending a dime.
