although the 2nd answer has good points there are a few things that go against normal marketing methods, yes it’s people that sell things, but if the product is bad, no person can sell it. Products do sell themselves if they are marketed right. Ipod does not use a person to sell but the product instead. And being the first to market something is often the key to the products success. Being 1st and unique is easier than being 2nd and trying to compete with the first product. And people don’t buy products simply because they are surprised, they buy for different reasons, need, desire, price, are all considerations. If your definition of “marketing” embraces Internet “marketing,” then read the following strategy.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text, is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which should consist of no more than 65 characters separated by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the “Description” which is usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – “Keywords” are also somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which is defined as the loading, and submission of repetitive words into a particular metatag category. “Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the elimination of your website from their search directory.

Here’s an example of a very highly-placed website on Yahoo.com: Begin with the search query “pizza downtown los angeles.” It will bring up some 1.4 million+ websites as results. Check out where “Pizza Next Door” is ranked. It’s in the Top Five! Again, Pizza Next Door’s high web presence was achieved by proper web design and placement of relevant metatags according to Yahoo’s publication guidelines.

BTW, “Third world country” is kind of offensive and politically incorrect.
In fact, people living in developing countries (rather than “third world”) generally are very sensitive to what they perceive as superiority pretensions from foreigners.
Take into account, for example, that developing countries like India and China provide a lot of top mind scientists, while other countries like Peru and Mexico have provided top artists.
You have to take into account three things:
What sort of media are you going to use? Some countries (even developing countries) enjoy widespread access to internet. In such places, that channel might work. In others, You’ll have to rely on billboards and perhaps radio ads.
What kind of message will you be sending? If your product/service is an aspirational one, then present it as such. If your product is rather a commodity, focus on availability and price.

If you have a small cake shop, a web presence is hardly going to make, or break your business, but could make more people in your area become aware of your shop. This does not mean that a web presence could do no benefit, in fact, if you were really ambitious, you could end up selling your cakes to people all around the country, it all depends on how far you want to go with your enterprise.

If your business can benefit from being exposed on a broader base, then an internet presence can be of very real benefit. The imporatnt thing to remember, is that by having a web site, does not automatically mean your business will suddenly be inundated with prospective clients. Your site needs to have visibility and that is another whole process altogether.

Think of it as building a hotel. You build this wonderful place and then wonder why nobody stays there. Well if no one knows about it, no one will come there. You need to advertise it and put up signs. On the internet, the “putting up of signs” is similar to finding you site/pages in the search engines. This means that your site needs to have some work done on it, to make is “search engine friendly”. You can do this yourself, or you can hire an SEO (Search Engine Optimization) company.

But beware of those companies that promise you the world, take your money and give you no results.

I think the major differences is emarket marketing is more confined to staying within its market types, where Interent marketing is allowing for a much broader approach for experimenting where the best marketing campaigns will result from. Thus if your selling a specific service as a emarket business, the only way you will sell it is if you research out the sector that will be allowing the use of this service. But now in Internet Marketing having service support to offer is more like the type for allowing to find out who is interested to needing service support, and than trying to find out more of why they need this service support to find out if it will be right for them before you want to commit to making larger marketing campaigns to finding the right customers.

But both would require experimental approaches for solving which out of two different approaches used at the same time will work best for attracting more interests for itself that would be helping the individual service, emarketing or Internet Marketing to help itself promote a more concentrated effort into the found better working half. You would continue doing this to learn more about the type of customers you are actually looking for and how they are publishing their specific interests. After getting to the point of knowing exactly who your customers are suppose to be, this will be easy enough to make it to find your real customer using just Internet searches.
