Robert asks…

How does Internet marketing differ from traditional marketing?

barry0912 answers:

Contrary to popular belief, internet marketing does not differ too much from traditional marketing.

The internet affords us a faster and more convenient way to reach our target audience. It also expands our target audience to include those globally, where traditional marketing would be focussed more on local targets. Those points would make up the main differences.

One of the very exciting things about internet marketing is that it opens the floodgates for the everyday man or woman in the street to participate in an arena where they can own their own business, for minimal outlay and small ongoing costs.

When you cut through all the hype and clutter online, its very easy to see that the traditional marketing systems, focuses and requirements are still there. Its just that many enterprising folks have found a way to make things easier and faster, via the internet.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Jobs

Linda asks…

Does anyone know any legitimate ways to make money on the internet?

I have a job, but I need to make some extra income. My work schedule is pretty random, so taking a second job is kind of out of the question. I know people make money online, but everything I seem to run across is a scam! I am open to pretty much anything, thanks for your help and ideas!
More specific? I have heard of people grading papers for schools, writing papers for people, etc. I don’t want to invest any money.

barry0912 answers:

Don’t bother with PTC, surveys or answering emails. They are all a waste of time. Unless you think your time is only worth 2cents an hour… Forget about them.

Selling on ebay is a quick one, but you have to have something to sell… And there are fees and listing takes a long time and if the item doesn’t sell it’s a pain to relist and you wasted a bunch of time. That’s why I don’t do that anymore.

I started Internet marketing using free sites… Weebly.com, intuit.com, blogger, wordpress, snipsly, xomba, squidoo … All free. You can do reviews of affiliate products and make a good solid income… Don’t expect a landslide of money from any one site… Build a lot of niche sites and you some will do well and some won’t. Just keep building and you will make money. No cost to you except time…

The downside of going the free route is… You own nothing, you built nothing, but you spent a lot of time doing it… If you are going to spend time… I would spend a little bit of money on a domain and hosting, building a list… And you will be investing your time in building a business that lasts…

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions… I have tons of resources available… Free training, etc.

What’s the best recipe for your favorite dish found on the Internet?

On the Internet, there must be a gazillion recipes for any dish you can dream up. Give us the name of the best dish you have personnally made that you found on the Internet. Give the link to same, so that the rest of us can cook it too.

Right now, I’m looking for a good Holiday chutney made with tomatoes.
I guess I should have mentioned that the tomatoes are from my garden. Times running out for them. Green now, but not for long.. Only about 3 -5 lbs. of the Roma’s left to ripen.
I may end up just drying them. They always taste sweeter that way. Yum.
These all sound yummy. Keep them coming guys. I have extented the time frame to max. the input. We could all use a best recipe.

I’ll throw in a favorite of mine: Baked Salmon . My wife and I use to dine at this expensive restaurant to get their tastee Salmon dish. Then one day the first wife discovered the secret, and we no longer go there. This is as simple as it gets.

Needed

Salmon for two or four
Sesame seeds
Bottle of Garlic Expression (Salad dressing) found at Krogers (Market Basket) in the refrigerated Produce area (packaged leafy vegetables area).
Oven ready dish 8 x 8 or 12 x 12 (two or four servings).

Cut servings for each party and remove skin.
Preheat oven to 350
pour Garlic Expresions over fish, leaving 1/8″ pool in dish around fish.
Put in oven for 25 – 35 min. depending on thickness of servings. Remove ten min. prior to taking out, and sprinkle Sesame seeds over fish, coating entirely. Cook 10 min. longer. Serve with favorite side dishes.

This ‘basic quiche’ recipe —

http://www.eggs.ca/recipes/Show_recipe.asp?actionID=150&NumPage=

1 1/2 cups of heavy cream is a lot, but it’s delicious, and a foolproof recipe. Beat my old ‘basic quiche’ to bits.

Add 2 cups of mushrooms — sauté them first to get out the extra water — and 1 cup of your favourite cheese(s). You will not be disappointed…

Marketing boards have great recipes, I find. For obvious reasons. I mean, the Canadian egg people did a great job of getting me to eat more eggs with just that one recipe.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Degree

David asks…

I would like to study Internet Marketing and Web design?

I would like to do a homestudy course of some sort that offers support and training in this area. I am in Australia don’t know if that matters. Can anyone help?

barry0912 answers:

If I were you, I would call up the local schools in your area (universities etc) and see if they offer marketing courses online. Many schools are going this way and you can often get a degree when you are done.

Secondly you can try schools like the University of Phoenix which puts a ton of courses online for people to study abroad. There are plenty of these “online schools” out there now and many of them do Internet marketing and web design since that course lends itself to the Internet pretty easily.

Just check their references, make sure they are legit, that they have a physical address and give them a call. See how they handle your call, are they professional? See if anyone else has had success with them. Do your research.

Good luck on the marketing course search!

Internet SEO Marketing Question?

What could be expected as a “normal paid conversion percentage” using clickbank to sell a training program to make money online in the cellular phone industry, purchaser buys training program online for S 49.50 that teaches them how to market a free website that they are given with the training Program.

Out of every 100 visitors from Quality online traffic, how many would convert with a solid offer that is backed wirh a 60 day money-back guarantee – that states if they do not earn at least $1000.00 in the first 60 days – by simply applying what they are taught in the training program they will receive a refund for training program.

How much of a difference would it make regarding “paid conversion percentage” if the offer was $19.95 verses $ 49.50?

barry0912 answers:

There isn’t any set percentage as such. It completely and completely depends on your content, copywriting, landing page, graphics, page rank and a list of other things. But lets say you get almost everything right to some degree, i am talking about from my experience, i get about minimum 1-4 % conversion percentage, out of 100 visitors.

Now let me clarify, getting 100 visitors is no parameter for your internet SEO marketing question. Im talking about 100 “ready to buy” visitors, who have done their research and are completely motivated to find the solution rightaway. As a rule i dont draw people looking just for information. I talk straight to the point and i write articles in and around the buying part of it.

Well, Internet SEO Marketing techniques also depend on the selection of your product you want to promote, the niche, existing competition and the quality of their respective landing pages. So in a way, there is no yardstick, its all upto your SEO and content writing skills.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Jobs

Paul asks…

Will marketing still be a lucrative field in the future?

I am planning on going into the field of marketing. I would like to know how going into marketing in this economy will pan out along with how the future of marketing looks as of now.

barry0912 answers:

Marketing jobs are tough to get. Typically you have to get lucky or have experience to land a good job. 2nd option is to start with a company at the bottom and try to work our way up. There are two types of marketing jobs either you work on the design side of things or the sales side of it. If you hate sales you better have good knowledge of computer/graphic design as it will get you much farther. If you like the sales side then you will probably score a job pretty easy. Alot of companies tie marketing into more hands on sales experience whether it be trade shows or presentations etc.. To answer your question great field, and will never go away. However, it is evolving much more into the internet than expected. I recommend solid background on design and other internet applicaitons.

Nancy asks…

What is a fun or interesting part time job that compliments a full time career?

My day job is stressful and intense. Its in an office environment. I’m looking for something “different” with flexible hours, fun, won’t burn me out and has NO inventory. Serving and bartending are obvious. I’m looking for something not so obvious. FYI I live in Toronto Canada.

barry0912 answers:

Bartending=very late hours in some cases, although private clubs are great. I was where you are a couple of years ago. Because I like the computer, internet marketing was the viable low cost answer for me.
I have some sites that generate passive income for me allowing my weekends to still be free!
