Your Questions About Title Loans

Lisa asks…

how to get out of title loans?

I took out a title loan for 2000 dollars 2yrs ago and have now paid back over 3000 dollars and the loan company is saying the money went to the principal and i still owe 2000 dollars. how do i get out of this?

Tony:

The only way “out” of a loan is to satisfy the terms and conditions that you agreed to. When you took out the loan, you signed a promissory note – that’s where you’ll find all of the details of the agreement. If you signed it, you’re responsible for everything in there. If the loan contains unconscionable terms, you might have some recourse, but even then, you’d have to demonstrate that you were either incapable of understanding the terms that you agreed to, or that you had no choice but to accept the agreement.

The repayment schedule on your loan is determined by your interest rate, by the length of time that you have to repay, and by the amount of your monthly payment. If your interest rate is high, the repayment period is long, and your monthly payment is small, it could well be possible that you still owe pretty much everything that you borrowed.

The trick to repaying a loan quickly is to pay more than the minimum payment every month – that applies to credit cards, mortgages and any other type of borrowed funds.

I’m guessing that you misunderstood one thing that the lender told you – it’s unlikely that your payments went to principal, because if they had, you’d be in good shape. I think the payments that you’ve made have all gone towards some outrageous interest charge.

Just as an example, if you borrowed $2000 at 24% and made payments of only $41 a month, you’d wind up repaying almost $7700 and it would take you more than 12 years to repay the loan.

Get out the promissory note and check your interest rate and your payment term and your payment amount, and pay as much as you can. If possible, try to refinance this debt with a lower interest rate loan.

Good luck.

Any one ever used Title Loans?

Has anyone ever used TURBO TITLE LOANS? It says they need a car title and a key. If it is online How do they get my car title and key? Also would they no if my car was broken? How?

barry0912 answers:

A car has to be worth at least $500 on the open market to qualify for title loans. A Salvage title is allowed. Customers will be asked about the current condition of the vehicle. The car needs to be running and in drivable condition, however, it can be in the shop in some cases. Previous clients have used title loans to pay a mechanics’ bill. This way, they get their repairs even when the repair shop won’t finance the bill.

Your Questions About Anonymous

Susan asks…

What should I do? An anonymous letter was sent to my organization maliciously destroying my integrity?

Recently, my organization head received an anonymous letter saying I did extortion and accepted bribe money for the past two years? The writer is unknown, no address, and it mentions no specific victim of extortion. It contains no lead to a fact of the complain. Honestly, I did not do any such unethical acts!. My supervisor and boss said they will review the over a thousand cases of my work for the past two years, and I am not afraid. What will I do? Who could have done this to me?

barry0912 answers:

You may never know who sent the letter. While its normal to wonder, it can also drive you crazy.

The most important thing in this situation is to remain calm, keep your cool, smile, cooperate and go about your work. Do not allow the inquiry to interfere with your continuing to do a good job.

Second, your organization should contain any possible damage to your reputation. If they feel the need to look into the letter, then fine. Not knowing all the facts, its hard to say if they are acting correctly in even responding this way. They should, however, act in a manner that respects your reputation. The inquiry should be limited to what’s necessary to produce results, and the people involved should be limited only to those that can offer necessary and relevant information and / or have an absolute need to know in order to complete the inquiry. That’s normally legal, HR, your supervisor(s) and other employees that have direct and personal knowledge of important facts. They should do what’s necessary to finish the inquiry as soon as reasonably possible so everyone can put the incident behind the organization.

The specific rules on these matters differ by country and state. Also, the allegations can be criminal, which is fairly serious. I would consider consulting with an employment lawyer in your area. I would avoid involving counsel in the discussions with your employer, and I might even hesitate to make public the fact you are consulting with counsel. That tends to put the discussion on an adversarial footing, some people will react negatively (assume you have something to hide), and it may appear as if your concerned and not cooperating. Having said that, getting some advice in the background is always a good thing … And you can work with your counsel on when, or if, its ever reasonable to involve him / her in the matter.

Good Luck.

How do I become truly anonymous on the internet?

I already use tor what else can I do because I heard of the government getting passed tor’s security. Is there a computer I can by that is without IP or something. I currently have a mac book are there settings I should turn off or on. How do I become truly anonymous on the internet?

barry0912 answers:

If you don’t have an IP address then it is physically impossible for you to be on the internet. End of story.

The best option would be to use Tor AND pay for a professional VPN that DOES NOT keep any IP records period (some do even though they say they protect identity). Additionally use a browser which randomizes the user agent per every webpage, does not keep cookies, and does not support java.

True anonymity is impossible without getting into a main internet line without the use of an ISP.

Your Questions About Anonymous Text

Betty asks…

Is it possible to send an anonymous text message and preset the time it will be sent?

I received a message anonymously and I want to know if it must have been sent exactly before I got it or if someone could have composed it at an earlier time and set it to be sent at the time I received it.

I believe it was sent using vtext.com but I cannot be sure.

barry0912 answers:

Only from the internet. Not from another phone

Susan asks…

Is there a way to send an anonymous text message?

Kinda like when you punch in *67 before dialing a number and your caller id won’t show up.

barry0912 answers:

Yes there is . . . But not like punching numbers. You can send anonymous text messages through most cell phone websites. For example at www.uscellular.com on their front page in the upper right you will see a header saying send a text message. But US Cellular asks for a legit 10 digit number both to and from. But I know I have put in a fake number before and it has still gone through.

I haven’t checked all cell phone company websites, but I assume they have similar functions on their websites. Good luck.

Your Questions About Anonymous Email

John asks…

Is it possible to know the source of an anonymous email on yahoo?

I received an anonymous email using yahoo mail from somebody and I would like to know if it is possible to know the person or the place of origin of the letter.

barry0912 answers:

Are you saying there was no “FROM” address?
Or do you mean it was an email address you didn’t recognize?

When you open the email, you should see somewhere on the page a link that says “Full Headers.” Expanding the header of the email might give you some clues… It is a long shot, though.

If it’s just an email address you don’t recognize, you could try Googling it and see if anything interesting comes up.

Do be careful when you get an email from someone you don’t know. There is a good chance that it is spam or worse. Don’t click any links that are in the email, or open any attachments. That’s pretty much how you get a virus, worm, or just generally hacked.

Michael asks…

Can an anonymous email be traced back to me?

If i use send-email.org to send an anonymous e-mail, can it in any way be traced back to me? If so, what can I do to send an e-mail that cannot be linked to me in any way?

barry0912 answers:

The IP address can always be traced back to the ISP. The ISP maintains logs of who was using an IP address at any specific time. That is not available to the general public.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Degree

Carol asks…

What can I expect if I major in marketing?

What I’m wondering is if I get a bachelor’s in marketing will I have to work in sales as an entry level position? I believe that I’m a very creative person, and I like to work with ideas so I’m majoring in marketing. I know that what I really want to do is advertising but I don’t want to major in that because I feel that it may be too narrow, not sure though. I hate the idea of cold calling or trying to pitch a product, I did it for a while and hated it.

barry0912 answers:

Right now the Internet marketing industry is booming. Especially in the social media side. The way I look at it, if you can help companies build revenue online, then you will always be an asset.

Forget about degrees though, school wont be able to teach you what you need to know because the Internet will change before the class is over.

Not saying you shouldn’t get a degree, it will help… But in the end personal experience will always be more important with this.

Susan asks…

What type of job would I be looking at majoring in Marketing Management?

I’m considering majoring in Marketing Management. I’d like to know what type of job I’d have after graduating, its salary, etc., My focus would be on the gaming industry or the internet industry either which I could care less. All inputs would be great. Also, would marketing management prepare me faster as a ‘Marketing Manager’ than to say if I was just to major in Marketing?

barry0912 answers:

You could use that degree to make a fortune in pharma sales. Especially if you minored in chem, and possibly communications.
