Your Questions About Internet Marketing Forum

Donna asks…

I was wondering if I can ask a simple question to promote my business without being considered to be a SCAM?

To the two people who answered my first question. You can call me direct at 951-488-4185. It was a posed questions to see how many people really respond to internet marketing. Ask for Adam.

Advertise from a customer perspective with a testimonial on how great the product is. Also, only questions are supposed to be posted in Yahoo! Answers, so search for someone asking for the kind of service that you provide. Otherwise, you could post on public forums of related interests.

Paul asks…

Is it better that one reads a book on the basics of Internet marketing?

Will this save them time and money?
Will it help them avoid making costly mistakes?
What are some books you suggest?

barry0912 answers:

Hi Christopher,

I would suggest that you go straight to the source- online!

I have been learning internet marketing for the last 5 months or so, and I looked into buying books, and I was disappointed with the selection- the problem is, the field is continuously evolving!

A book can teach you the very basics, but you’ll end up paying for information you can find for free.

My advice is to follow the experts, the gurus- Do a search for a specific topic you’re interested in, and you’ll get tons of specific blog entries and articles to help you out- the nice thing about internet marketing is how active and growing the community is.

If you already have a site, it’s great because you can experiment as you go and see what suits your needs best. If you’re starting from scratch, consider getting a free blog or other personal site that allows you to manage content personally. Otherwise you may feel lost, and the truth is, you don’t need a textbook- the key to the Internet is, it’s interactive. Textbooks can never compare.

Plus, you’ll often get more actual information per paragraph than most books will offer.

Depending on your goals, there are many ways to market online. You have to start with a site, and you should learn some basics on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) (I wrote a blog entry that offers some resources for beginners, I will add it below) – beyond that you have tons of options.

– Write original articles and submit to article sites (they provide good exposure!)
– Create videos and post them to YouTube and other video sites
– Write a blog and get it out there! (plenty of free sites)
– Make friends in the social network space (i.e. Sites like MySpace, Facebook and Twitter) that will help you spread the word
– Record a Podcast and publish to different podcasting sites
– Visit other sites, forums, etc and post comments where you think your product or service could benefit the person
– If you’re strictly looking for traffic, don’t be afraid of paid advertising or sponsorships

Your Questions About Title Ix

Sharon asks…

Title IX and hard sciences. What does it mean for hard sciences ? How will it be implemented ?

The classes are already gender neutral, there is nothing from keeping women entering that field. What will happen if not more women sign up ?
Jery, Library science and Education do not qualify as hard sciences.
Thats what they said 5 years ago, now they want title IX.

barry0912 answers:

Probably by kicking out most of the men so the number of men matches is equal to the few women that decided those fields.

William asks…

Does anyone know about any supreme court cases about Title IX?

any cases that somehow had to do with Title IX, women discrimination in sports, etc . links or answers would be very helpful…thanks!!!

barry0912 answers:

Title IX has been tremendously good for women’s college sports but a disaster for men’s college sports. Hundreds of wresting, tennis, swimming, and other men’s teams have been cut thanks to Title IX.

Donna asks…

Can An Employer Use Binding Arbitration Over EEOC Title VII Complaints?

Based on employer arbitration agreements, It is at least implied that an employee has no right to file a valid Title IV complaint with the EEOC.
I have seen two cases that have gone both was so there really is no president that I know of.
Has the Supreme Court or Congress made a decision on this?
This is the most recent story I could find on this issue. (4 yrs. old)

barry0912 answers:

EEOC does not recognize prior arbitration agreements, so it makes no difference what an employer may or may not have implied. If you have an EEOC complaint, file it. You are protected by federal law from retribution when you file, by the way.

your opinion about internet marketing on a free piano lessons free-blog?

im on the way to make a free piano lessons free-blog,can you tell me exacly ideas on how to make money out of this? and how many money i can make per month,

some ideas are:
– affiliate marketing in one tab
– some buyable stuff like e-book
– maybe some skype call lessons
– maybe some advertises(but the money from this it will be extremly low due the small amount of views)
– a system that customers tell me which song they like to learn on piano and i will tell them how to learn it with a small amount of money

any other opinion? will this work? and how many money i will make per month! thanks!

barry0912 answers:

A music blog will not be a huge money maker–especially one giving free lessons.

You can set-up an opt-in form for a free newsletter or eBook like you were thinking then market to your list.

But I would suggest having useful content (blog), images and videos on your site, some Adsense ads, a music related product from Clickbank or another product site and charge a small fee (at least) for your lessons.

Also, determine who your target audience/market will be and market to them. Like teenagers are into music but are they really going to take lessons or visit a site offering lessons? But parents of younger kids may very well be interested in your lessons for their children so they are more apt to visit your site.

Anyway, don’t expect to make a great deal of cash unless you decide to charge for your services. However, having Adsense ads etc. Like I suggested above may just recoup your costs to maintain the site.

Oh, you can contact the company below for a free one-hour consultation. They can help you come up with a detailed internet marketing strategy and implement the strategy as well.

I wish you the best!
