Your Questions About Anonymous Movie

George asks…

anonymous movie credits?

What is the name that is mostly used in movie credits by actors/directors when they can’t or don’t want to use their own name?
allright… rereading my own question, I am a bit baffled as to how an actor would remain anonymous and use the Alan Smithee name

barry0912 answers:

When a director decides to take his or her name off a film, it is called an Alan Smithee film. Interestingly, there was a movie in 1997 called An Alan Smithee Film: Burn, Hollywood, Burn. It ended up actually being an Alan Smithee film when Arthur Hiller took his name off the project.

When an actor can’t or won’t use her/his own name, s/he will either simply not appear in the credits at all or will use a pseudonym. In The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Robin Williams played the King of the Moon, but was billed as Ray D. Tutto (a play on his line, “I’m sorry. You must address me by my full title: King of Everything. Rei di Tutto – but you may call me Ray. ”

I’ve never heard of a case where an actor remained on a project against her/his will to the degree that s/he wanted her/his name removed from the film.

Your Questions About Title Insurance

Robert asks…

Do i need title insurance if buying a home with cash?

There will be no mortgage on the house. What does title insurance protect me from?

barry0912 answers:

Yes you would want and need title insurance on any real estate purchase even if you are paying all cash for the property.

This title insurance would ensure that there are no liens on the property prior to you assuming ownership. Failure on your part to obtain title insurance you might have many unknown liens on the property that if you decided to refinance or sell the property would have to be paid prior to you selling or getting a refinance.

The title police guarantee that you are receiving a clear title without any other encumbrances.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

“FIGHT ON”

Richard asks…

Do you really need title insurance on a foreclosed house?

For example HUD recommends that a buyer of the HUD foreclose gets a title insurance. Why? Isn’t that redundant?

Also, I know some lenders that require buyers to get a title insurance on a government foreclosure.
I understand that on bank foreclosure it is necessary to have title insurance. But why on a government foreclosure? My understanding was that all the lens are dropped when you buy a government foreclosure.

barry0912 answers:

Title insurance is more important on a foreclosed home than any other. There are numerous title insurance problems that can be associated with a foreclosure. I have seen many, many incorrect legal descriptions in foreclosures; creditors (thus lienholders) omitted from the foreclosure process; and even on one occasion the entirely wrong property was foreclosed. In order to save the most money you should ask for the re-issue rate if that is possible. HUD just purchased a policy of title insurance on the property in question, you may want to go back to that title insurance company for your policy.

Linda asks…

Will online activity (of commentary websites like blogs, twitter, yahoo answers) always remain anonymous?

If you sign up for one of these sites anonymously, the only thing that can really be traced to you is your IP address (and possibly MAC address – though not sure). My question is – would there ever be a future scenario, for whatever the reason may be, in which IP addresses begun to be linked to certain people’s names – so that in a way, others could know what online activities you’ve been involved with?

Or, would this scenario be a breach of the right to privacy – and this information would always remain anonymous forever?
In other words, can ISP companies reveal the names of individuals linked with certain IP addresses? Or, is this against the privacy law?
What I meant in particular was, if a person is too opinionated in their online activities – can ISP’s oust people like that?

barry0912 answers:

It’s already not anonymous. ISPs do hand over customer based on IP address. E.g. Police find man trying to cyber sex a child, they go to his ISP, ask them who used this IP at this time, they give info.

Your Questions About Title Vii

Sandra asks…

Can Title VII override the employment environment and conditions detailed in a written employment contract bet

barry0912 answers:

Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) cover all private employers, state and local governments, and education institutions that employ 15 or more individuals. These laws also cover private and public employment agencies, labor organizations, and joint labor management committees controlling apprenticeship and training.

An employment contract does not allow for or legalize any act of discrimination that is covered by Title VII. A contract can not set as an acceptable working environment any policy or procedure that tolerates or promotes discrimination. So to answer your question YES Title VII can and does override an illegal contract.

There are some exceptions to these laws for multi-national companies. The exceptions are few and each instance is looked at on it’s particular circumstances and merits.

David asks…

can Title VII override the employment environment and conditions detailed in a written employment contract?

barry0912 answers:

Not unless the employment contract is illegal or the language used in the contract is in direct contradiction to the Title VII.
