Sandy asks…

what are advantages/dis advantages of internet marketing?

internet marketing not internet advertising

barry0912 answers:

ADVANTAGES:
Internet marketing, also known as SEO, is typically considered the most effective form of marketing, online or offline. That is because having Internet marketing performed correctly and ethically on one’s Website allows the site to reach the most online visitors, across the most states and countries, across many search engines, for numerous keyword terms.

Other advantages include: being able to build brand recognition, a site can achieve first page keyword rankings across search engines like Google, MSN, Yahoo and others, eliminating costly PPC programs if a site is optimized naturally/organically in engines, and a site owner can see a fast ROI (return on investment).

DISADVANTAGES:
Internet marketing, while usually a monthly ongoing maintenance fee, may still seem too expensive for businesses working out of their homes or small business trying to find an affordable way to market their websites online. In addition, once an Internet marketing or SEO professional completely stops maintaining your Internet marketing program for you (and you do not considerd yourself to be a qualified professional), the rankings a site owner worked so hard to achieve in the search engines eventually drop/fall in the results (nobody working on keeping them there anymore). Getting high keyword rankings and keeping them takes ongoing commitment and time, so when nobody is there anymore to continuously work on the rankings, they will fall. One last disadvantage I can think of is that sometimes Websites simply cannot be optimized at all or have Internet marketing performed, due to a number of reasons, such as the Website was designed/built in a way that search engines cannot find or recognize pages within the site in order to optimize it (frames, flash websites, dynamic HTML pages, etc).

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Forum

Maria asks…

What is the best DVR on the market? I have cable with every HD channel available?

I am looking to find out what is the best and most feature rich DVR on the market. I would like to have features like commercial skip, ability to record multiple HD programs at once, easy to use and if possible the ability to record my programs to DVD. Do they make DVR/HD DVD player/DVD recorder all in one players? THANKS, give me a good thorough answer… I appreciate it!

barry0912 answers:

Hi jt2002champ,

We prefer TiVo because of simplicity of use. The schedule is always correct because it is updated every day. I can program TiVo to record from out of town over the Internet. TiVo learns what you like and recommends shows that you might like. Often times we never would have known they were on. You can program an entire season of a given series with a single click and TiVo never forgets. You can tell TiVo you like someone or something and it will locate shows for you. For example if you tell it you like John Wayne it will watch for and record anything he is on.

With my series 2 and series 3 TiVo’s I can transfer recordings to my computer, edit them if desired then record them to a DVD.

You can also allow TiVo to share pictures and music from your computer. It will play the music and slide shows on your TV.

I could go on and on about TiVo. There is one downside and that is the monthly (you can pay yearly if you want) fee.

The series 3 TiVo and the HD Tivo are your two HD choices. Both record two channels at once and both will take a cablecard so you don’t need a special tuner box for them.

To learn all about TiVo check their web site here – https://www3.tivo.com

Check the TiVo user forum here – http://www.tivocommunity.com

The TiVo Community Store often has good bargains for TiVo’s or accessories. Check them for current pricing along with your local Best Buy – http://store.tivocommunity.com/merchant….

You need either a phone line or internet connection for TiVo to download software updates and program information.

I hope this helps you make the best decision.

Lisa asks…

Pl provide any certified internet which offered money related work?

I shall be grateful if any body provide internet work from where a person can earn money.

barry0912 answers:

I think the best way to earn money through internet is Blogging. You can use Google’s blogger for this purpose. There are millions of people looking for something interesting to read, to play, to chat with some one, to share their ideas on the web. If you are creative, start writing a story and put it on your blog in pieces. People will keep coming to your blog to read the next part of the story. Or if you do not like to stress your mind in writing stories, you can even create a blog as a warehouse of useful information. You just need to keep yourself abreast with the latest things going in the world. It could be about share market, about some news event or about some book launch. Google for it and put the best and most useful links on your blog (provided you do not do any copyright violation).
You can think of some other innovative ways too.

Your Questions About Anonymous

Jenny asks…

What is the best free anonymous proxy server?

I am trying to use an anonymous proxy server to make it harder for the “internet” to know my IP address. Anyone know?

barry0912 answers:

Unfortunately good free Proxies are a thing of the past – You might find some if you asked on FacePunch or a Usenet forum (or torrenting forum for that matter) however most people are going to tell you that paid VPN and Proxy are the only real safe way to protect yourself these days – With all the file sharing laws up in the air, VPN and Proxy are big big business, and you are likely to have all the pages you visit over the VPN, passwords etc all redirected to/through third parties.

Look for a paid for service that will give you security, as well as a guarantee that if the law comes knocking on their doorstep, they dont have logs of your activity.

George asks…

What to write on an anonymous valentines note?

How do i start it? It’s for one of my best friends, hes a guy im a girl lol, but i dont want to ruin things all out by asking him out SO i thought i’d hide an anonymous note in his bag 🙂 any suggestions?

barry0912 answers:

That is really sweet of you. I love the idea of putting a little note in his bag. But you could be soooo much more creative. Why not use one of the anonymous mailing websites out there like SilentSender.com . You can write a really sweet and insightful letter, and even include some meaningful photographs (maybe pictures of things that would slowly give him an idea of who you are, without actually telling who you are.) I would love to get an anonymous letter, with a few pics or art, or something I created for my crush or just some romantic photograph of something meaningful, like where you share a moment you think you connected (a place). Just an idea- It would be cool to do the extra mile. Good Luck hope this helps.

What jobs can I get with a Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management degree?

I have been out of college for about two years now and have worked a lot of random jobs like receptionist, gym member specialist, personal home cook, etc… -the kinds of jobs I don’t need a degree for. I graduated with a degree that is probably more geared toward consulting than a skill related field. What other kinds of jobs should I apply for?

I graduated with a degree that is probably more geared toward consulting than a skill related field. What other kinds of jobs should I apply for?

My main passions are health, nutrition, psychology and public health.

barry0912 answers:

I find it ironic that you got a four-year degree in entrepreneurship/business management and didn’t mention anything concerning starting and running your own business. The brainwashing of us Americans into the template of automatically looking for jobs working for someone else is very strong. Unless, of course, you’ve already considered this and have no interest in this possibility.

As a business owner, you have total control of what you do and don’t do and your rewards when/if successful are virtually unlimited. And many businesses don’t require a lot of money to start. Plus it’s possible to get money in other ways other than out of your own pockets to start your business.

If you are interested, I would consider books written by Tyler G. Hicks. He has been writing books on this subject for many years (I recently got one with a copyright of 1966) and they are very good, IMHO. The only thing out of date seems to be the dollar examples he uses based on all the inflation over the years. He is still in business today. A number of people ding his books in reviews because he doesn’t take you through the whole process step by step and sometimes plugs his other materials, but I like him. I can virtually guarantee you’ll learn from his books. A true entrepreneur doesn’t need hand-holding. Just info, guidance, encouragement and options. I recently ordered a book of his entitled, “How to Build a Second Income Fortune in Your Spare Time” with a copyright of 1965, that I would very highly recommend to you in spite of its age. I’m only up to page 75 so far but it’s very, very good. I’m very glad I bought it.

I would suggest you go to Amazon.com or some other used book sellers on the internet and see if any of his books interest you and possibly get some ideas going in your head in the fields you are most interested in.

In school did you take coursework in business formation, business law, marketing and advertising? There are many good books on these subjects and I would use the reviews on Amazon.com to find the best ones to help you. Other business books on the subjects of interest and need to you to help you be super successful should also be considered. To look for good books on legal issues and the mechanics, I’d consider Nolo.com as an initial place to look. Their books are most often high quality, although some are of course better than others.

I am presently working on starting a nonprofit. It’s pretty hard to get fired when you’re the owner of the company. Plus, you can work at any job within your company as you desire. And switch around whenever you like. Or stay small and do it all. Or start off small and expand as you need or desire to. You can also start your business part-time while working a regular job until you start making way more money in your own business. Plus you can have more than one small business going at the same time if you’re so inclined.

My opinion is it’s pretty hard to beat the advantages and potential of the job of business owner. No matter what you do, it will build on your degree and experience in your field. That’s my suggestion.

Good luck, Lala. 🙂
