Your Questions About Internet Marketing

Steven asks…

what is internet marketing?

and how do i get started

barry0912 answers:

Good question. Internet Marketing is taking the elementary ideals of marketing and applying those skills to the internet. Marketing is of course getting a business in front of potential customers, and turning those customers into clients.

Are you looking to market a business? Or are you looking to be an Internet Marketer?

I do custom business writing, and have used a small web firm called Alphabetix for my internet marketing. They are quite good. My web site had very little traffic, and with their help I get about 200 unique visitors a day.

Good luck.

David asks…

Has anyone tried interviewing a group of realtors?

Considering having a bunch of realtors come to my house and individually pitch their plan to sell my house in the current market. Marketing strategy, reduction in commission, etc. My house has been on the market for over a year and has not sold (Atlanta area). Great house, low price, but cannot compete against new homes that builders are dumping for bargain prices. Other methods for getting the best deal with realtors?

barry0912 answers:

Realtors don’t sell anything.
90% of houses are sold, after somebody searched for one on the internet.
Your house will sell for todays right price, which is 30% lower then 2 years ago. That’s for a 400,000 house from 2 years ago today 280,000.

Susan asks…

What is a normal daily spending budget for keywords?

So I’m back again, working on the last part of my internet marketing project. I’m just so stuck on the budget because I have no idea how to pick numbers and then justify them. I found a great site to estimate the cost of my keywords, but it makes me enter a daily spending limit. Any ideas on what a normal budget per day would be for keyword pricing? (By the way, my company is a multimillion dollar industry)

barry0912 answers:

A few guidelines:

1. Make sure you are not spending more per lead than you make on a sale. Seems obvious but you’d be surprised.

2. Figure out of how many leads you need to finalize an actual sale and how much profit you make from that sale.

3. Make sure you are not spending more per lead than the amount you make on a sale divided by the number of average leads you need to make a sale.

Example:

You’re selling a product that costs $5.
For each item sold, you make a $3 profit.
After analyzing the number sales that resulted from people clicking your ads against the total number of people who clicked on your ads, you realize that for every 10 people who click on your ad, you make 1 sale on average.

If your data is solid and spanned over a long period of time you can eventually assume that for every person who clicks on your ad you make a $0.30 profit.

Therefor you should be spending less than $0.30 per click or you’ll be losing money.

I’m assuming the only purpose of those ads is to generate sales and not brand awareness.

As for the daily budget, it depends on what your company can afford and its marketing strategy.

James asks…

What is the process of having companies buy ads on your website?

Internet marketing: You know the side ads on a website that help pay to keep the site running, what is the process involved in selling ads? How does that work?

barry0912 answers:

..assuming you want to do this from scratch

1. You must have a historic traffic report. This means you need to know how much traffic will flow through your site and be able to back up claims to advertisers. This will lead to the creation of your ‘rate card” – which is the amount each ad will cost and how much traffic people are buying.

2. You must specify the size/format of banners. I strongly recommend using standard sizes so that it’s easy on advertisers. Google adsense formats are the de-facto size standard. There is little reason to go off the standard.

3. You must set pricing based on your traffic levels, cost per click, or cost per action. To track this, you’ll need an ad rotation script with reports that let the advertiser log in and see their ad performance in a tansparent fashion. There are ad rotation scripts that lare less than $100 so don’t build it from scratch.

4. If you plan to just do period-of-time ads, you don’t need the script but you do need a lot of discipline in your process to be sure to put up and take down ads on schedule.

5. You need a way to accept payments. Ideally you have an auto-renew process that charges their credit cards on a schedule until they renew.

7. You need a legal agreement for advertising services.

.. Ad networks make this all easy but take almost all of the profit out of it. With your own setup, you get all the profit for the ad-runs.

…the hard part is finding advertisers. Most will expect a lot of traffic and costs between $20 and $30 per thousand impressions.

….if you don’t see 1000+ unique visitors per day ads are a waste of time in my opinion. Fill the spaces with high quality, relevant, affiliate program marketing that’s far more profitable.

SEO or search engine optimization is what leads potential customers to you. When looking for anything on the internet you are using a search engine. You look at the descriptions of the sites or maybe just pick the first one. Most people don’t get to the 8th or 9th page. Just look at your own experience looking for something on the internet. So the key to any internet marketing company is getting their customers on the first page is SEO. Curious that your friends know this and you don’t. How is your company doing?

Your Questions About Low Cost Dental Insurance

Thomas asks…

My family has health insurance but, no dental where can we go to get low cost dental insurance?

barry0912 answers:

You have five options with dental.

1. Go without insurance. If you have good teeth and just want the basics you probably don’t need any plan. A yearly cleaning and exam and even an occasional filling will cost you less without insurance.

2. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done for a reduced price if you’re willing to let them practice on you.

3. Insurance – Depending upon the policy: cost $30-$60 per month. You pay a $50 deductible first, they have an annual maximum that they’ll pay per year of $750 – $1500, they have a waiting period up to 18 months for major work and then you’re paying 50% of the charges. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With insurance you pay $414 after paying 18 months of premium (around $800 or $900). Advantage – you can use any dentist with most plans.

4. Discount plans – Cost – $5-$12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Also, hardly any dentists will accept the plan and when they do you MIGHT get a 10% discount, which is about the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With discount plans you pay around $746. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. The people that sell these plans have little or no knowledge about health & dental insurance and do not need a license to sell them. The plans are not regulated by the state so you have no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is an informative link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/west/2006/11/22/74554.htm concerning these plans.

5. Fee for Service discount plans – Cost $7-$15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Many dentist will accept the plan (check providers first before signing up with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge you. Example – average cost for a root canal in my area is $829. With fee for service plans you pay as little as $404.

I’m an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?locationid=20349 specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.

Steven asks…

where to find low cost dental insurance and can choose any dentist in Texas?

here’s the story
8 months ago, a little piece of my filling between front teeth fell out, i didn’t fell anything and it doesn’t look noticeable so i left it like that…
i think about 4 months later, one day i woke up and found the part above my lips, underneath my nose swollen. it makes my face looks different like i look like a gorilla or something.
and later that day on my upper front gum there was 2 purple pus
i was freaking out and asked my roommates they told me to take some penicillin that my mom bought in mexico, then poke the pus, drain and see if its blood or white stuff
so then i did, freaking out and scared to death and sanitize a thumbtack with vodka
and poke the crap out of my mouth put pressure on it let it drain totally
it was a lot of blood
few days after i kept taking penicillin the swellings are gone
i was too busy in school and working so i didn’t went to dentist immediately
and so on, it happened again this week
swellings are back but this time only on left side.
it came out a little pus today so far it’s white but i wonder if it’s gonna get bigger and became purple
i went to community dental clinic afternoon and my dentist tell me i got my tooth infected
i will need a root canal and fillings, he said it’s 70% possible to success
if he can’t save that tooth he will have to take it out!!!!
OMFG!!! WTF that’s my FRONT TOOTH!!
it’s gonna take 600 only for the root canal and if it didn work ill have to pay more for denture
i don’t have any insurance so i am begging to find a low cost dental insurance that doesn’t pick dentist for me to go to
( because they don’t accept dental plans and insurance has to be for any dentist)
i am a college student taking financial aid and loans to pay tuitions,my car and my rent
i’m working 2 jobs as babysitter and cashier that doesn’t make big money and no one’s there to support me.

I really need help!!! please please does anyone knows which dental insurance that’s not so expensive and is for any dentist in Texas? );

BTW I live in College Station

barry0912 answers:

You’re not going to find private dental insurance that pays out more than it costs. Between coverage limits, waiting periods, and copays (btw, it won’t pay more than $1,000 a year, and you have to have it a full year before having anything major done, and it will pay HALF of a root canal).

What you need to do, is find a local dental school. In College Station, that would be Baylor. You can get super low cost treatment, with a buncha students standing around watching.
