Sandra asks…

can a pc work without internet explorer and just use mozilla firefox?

barry0912 answers:

My PC doesn’t have Internet Explorer, or Windows Explorer, and I’ll bet it’s better than your PC 😉

It looks like just about everyone else on here is telling lies – I didn’t remove Internet Explorer, I never had it. My PC works without Internet Explorer – but I don’t JUST use Mozilla Firefox. I do use it a lot, and love that I can have ‘profiles’ set up.

I use Mozilla Firefox, I use Opera, I use Epiphany (lightweight gecko browser, same engine firefox but lighter browser) and Midori (webkit, like Safari) – and also I like Seamonkey, which is an ‘internet suite’ unlike browsers – it includes many features, like an Internet browser, email & newsgroup client, HTML editor, IRC chat and web development tools

Your question sounds a little like people who think that there is either Mac, which must only run Mac OSX, or PC which (in the Evangelist Microsoft campaign, must only run Microsoft).

Microsoft also launched campaigns to brainwash people, they pay many people to post on forums, and sites like Answers, in order to control thinking. The only reason they believe that Vista failed is that the people talked it down in forums.

Windows 7 is amazingly more successful – but in the words of an ex-Microsoft Evangelist (one of the guys who ran the campaign) “lets be real, Windows 7 is just Vista with a polished UI tweaks and *much* better marketing.”

Microsoft published on their own site, a complaint (relating to Internet Explorer not working with many internet sites because (in their words) the developers couldn’t take a few minutes to set up their site properley. Those sites included Windows Live, MSN sites, and included no less than 8 Microsoft hosted sites!!! Amazing!!! Yet news like this generally gets hidden, people generally get evangelistic about whatever Operating System they’re running (even though they might have many problems and hate it… Better the devil you know?)

If you have a PC and want to get away from the crap, then find something better, something free, or just an alternative for internet.

I use XP, it runs games on my system and has ACDSee Pro2, and several games. I disabled internet, and removed all of the security junk software also… So it now runs well.

When I am doing anything else (other than downloading 300 5MP pictures and adjusting them from my camera – and playing games) I boot to another Operating System.

Right now, I’m trying out Crunchbang Linux – wow, it’s amazingly fast after XP, but it’s a little basic. I prefer ubuntu for everything else. It’s great for net, it’s great for Office (free) it’s great for photo editing, making DVD’s, editing music, creating CD’s, well – whatever you wanna do, it’s great.

Sure, use Mozilla and avoid Internet Explorer. Better still, avoid Microsoft and their unfair business practices altogether. I’m amazed that any Christian can justify working to support such a Corporation!!! Show signs of charity for a few African Schools – when they could really give Free PC’s with really free software – and Ubuntu is better for kids than Windows ever could be!

Your Questions About Title Insurance

Mandy asks…

What value does a real estate lawyer add on top of title insurance?

If title insurance already protects against:
– survey errors
– legal description errors
– negligence
– forgery
– liens

and negates the need for:
– zoning compliance certificate
– tax certificate
– hydro/water/gas certificates
– law society levy

what value does a real estate lawyer add on top?

Is it just for wading through the legalese in the Offer and the Agreement?

barry0912 answers:

Depends on the transaction, if it’s a refinance, I would tend to agree with you even though I don’t understand what you mean by stating title insurance negates the need for tax and water certificate. I’d also be cautious of the legal description errors. I had a situation in NY, purchase, where the deed to the property did not contain a legal description at all. The previous title company would not give us a letter of indemity for our title and then come to find out our title underwriter would not accept it, the original deed had to be found and re-recorded, no exception, so I guess it depends on what you mean by “errors” On a purchase transaction, they usually add more value due to the purchase contracts and drafting of deeds, etc. To be bluntly honest, most attorneys usually dont even touch the file unless there is a major problem, their paralegals handle the day to day operations

Lisa asks…

Who is responsible for selling a bad title insurance policy?

I had property line dispute with my neighbor and my title insurance policy(First American Title Insurance Company) does not want to pay my $7k attorney fees for preparing the claim . They did not cover my out of pocket legal fees. I was sold a crappy policy 10 years ago when I purchased my residence. Who is in charge of choosing the title insurance company? Escrow company or the agent?

barry0912 answers:

Normally the real estate agent or the escrow officer select a title company they are accustom to working with. This is prevalent throughout the mortgage and real estate industry.

What the real estate agent or escrow loan or loan officer fail to tell their clients is that they may select the services of their choice.

Even if your title was not in excess of 10 year the title company only guarantee that liens against the property after your purchase would be paid and you would be getting a clean title to the property. You did not get a crappy title insurance policy.

I have used First American Title Insurance and have found them to be a competent title company over the years.

In most states and counties a property has been assigned a lot and parcel number with the dimension recorded at the county court where the property is located. If there is a dispute about the property as to where it ends and how much is yours, then you would have to hire a survey company to complete a survey to determine property lines.

I hope this has been of some benefit to you, good luck.

Michael asks…

wii internet accessories?

where do i buy wii internet accessories in INDIA,like nintenodo wifi usb connector etc……any good shopping website in INDIA thats has it … then please let me know……

barry0912 answers:

Wii Internet

Online gaming is a market that no video game company wants to miss, and Nintendo is no exception. With that in mind, Nintendo not only designed the Wii to let players compete against each other online, but it also added an entirely different aspect of the Internet to its newest system-browsing. Once the Wii has been hooked up to the Internet, either wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable, you can purchase Wii Internet for $5. The full version of the Internet Channel, which is a version of the Opera 9 Web browser, was launched in April of 2007 and it allows Wii owners to surf the Web in a unique fashion. The font is much larger than it is on a computer, so it is a lot easier to see from the comfort of your couch. You can also zoom in and out and scroll up, down and sideways using the Wii remote.
The Wii Internet Channel takes only a few seconds to launch, mostly because it stays connected to the Internet even when it is powered off. The software is saved on the 512 MB Wii internal flash memory. The software can also be transferred to an SD card after you download it, although temporary Internet files will remain on the internal memory. The Opera-based browser can support a host of Web 2.0 technologies and applications including:
CSS
JavaScript
Ajax
RSS
Adobe Flash 7
Widgets
The biggest gripe about the Wii Internet Channel is that the browser does not support Adobe Flash 8 or 9. According to Opera, the reason that the browser does not support the later versions of Flash is that a software development kit is not yet available for either version. Because Opera utilizes an older version of Flash, problems may arise while you are trying to view certain Flash videos. Aside from the problems on the user’s side, Nintendo is also having a bit of trouble with the Wii Internet Channel. Apparently, hackers have found a loophole in the system that allows them to run their own code on the Wii console. The loophole is in the Flash Player embedded within the browser and could allow hackers to create video game emulators. That sounds like a great loophole, right? Not if you’re Nintendo. One of their potential moneymakers is the Virtual Console, which charges gamers between $5 and $10 for unlimited access to a retro title.

The Wii can use an Internet connection in more ways than just browsing. There are also free applications such as Wii’s News and Forecast Channels. The News Channel provides you with a view of the globe, which allows you to view news by region if you wish. The Forecast Channel also gives you a view of the globe, but this view also shows current weather systems around the world. If you zoom out far enough, you can see an accurate star map in the background. Since you register your Wii’s locations, it also knows what you’re looking for in the way of a local forecast.

Wii Accessories
The Nintendo Wii, like every other video game console, has some controller variations and other accessories available for serious gamers. Some of the accessories are very useful, while others merely add to the aesthetic value. Some examples of Wii accessories that fall into the “looks good, but not very useful” category are the plastic attachments for the Wii remote that make it look like a tennis racket, golf club or baseball bat. Nothing about the Wii or the game you’re playing changes — the attachments just transform your Wii remote into a prop. There are also boxing gloves that can house the Wii remote and Nunchuck. Just like the plastic attachments, these gloves don’t change anything about the game, except for the fact that you don’t actually have to hold onto the controllers.

Your Questions About Low Cost Airlines

Identify how no frills and low cost airlines together with the different type of aircraft used for their various operation has contributed to the growth of aviation in the country.

barry0912 answers:

The least you could do is re-write your homework question so it sounds like a real question from you. 🙂

Read about Southwest Airlines on wikipedia, that should give you a good start.

Steven asks…

What is the future of low cost airlines?

i want the future of these upcoming low cost airlines .. whether they’ll work in future , how will their costs decide their future …

barry0912 answers:

I’m not rich and I usually use business class if it’s an overnight trip but I also nevermind using economic if it’s a decent airline. Personally I really don’t like low cost airlines- the service is pure crap, business class or not. I see them no future. Decent airlines get their fares lower every year and I think more and more people choose to use them, for the low cost- taxes go higher and it all becomes unprofitable. Personally I know lots of people who don’t like low costs, like me.
