Your Questions About Anonymous Movie

George asks…

anonymous movie credits?

What is the name that is mostly used in movie credits by actors/directors when they can’t or don’t want to use their own name?
allright… rereading my own question, I am a bit baffled as to how an actor would remain anonymous and use the Alan Smithee name

barry0912 answers:

When a director decides to take his or her name off a film, it is called an Alan Smithee film. Interestingly, there was a movie in 1997 called An Alan Smithee Film: Burn, Hollywood, Burn. It ended up actually being an Alan Smithee film when Arthur Hiller took his name off the project.

When an actor can’t or won’t use her/his own name, s/he will either simply not appear in the credits at all or will use a pseudonym. In The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Robin Williams played the King of the Moon, but was billed as Ray D. Tutto (a play on his line, “I’m sorry. You must address me by my full title: King of Everything. Rei di Tutto – but you may call me Ray. ”

I’ve never heard of a case where an actor remained on a project against her/his will to the degree that s/he wanted her/his name removed from the film.

Your Questions About Title Ix

Lizzie asks…

Does Title IX protect a college football player right of sexual identity?

I think I’m gay. I intend to be a D1 QB but I will NOT put up with any harassment.

barry0912 answers:

No, it only allows for the equal opportunity to participate in educational programs regardless of federally protected classes. Neither Sexual Preference nor Sexual/Gender Identity are protected classes under federal law. Some states protect one or the other, but not many. However, many schools have non-discrimination policies that cover those classes.

John asks…

What are peoples opinions on Title IX and how its influenced womens sports today?

barry0912 answers:

Title IX has been miss used.
It was supposed to give women’s sports an equal opportunity.
I take that to mean the same number of scholar athletes, but many interpret that to mean the same amount of money is spent on women and men.
What has happened is many schools have dropped men’s sports while adding women’s sports such as crew and equestrian.
Some want football canceled even though that is normally the one sport that makes money and funds the rest of the athletic program.
There are schools that have dropped men’s sports even though those sports were never a burden to the school, i.e. Golf which was completely funded by private donations was dropped so the 6 men lost their scholarships at no savings to the school.
I believe women should have an equal opportunity to sports, but not to the extent that men must suffer, especially since these people did not participate in past discrimination.

Your Questions About Title Boxing

Linda asks…

How does heavyweight boxing decide on title defenses?

More specifically, how long can a champ go without defending his title? Lastly, why aren’t there more unified titles and which title is the most prestigious?

barry0912 answers:

The most prestigious of the heavyweight belts is probably the WBC title, but many fight fans don’t have much respect for any of the titles. Some even prefer the Ring magazine champions, even though they’re not an actual boxing organization.

I think most organizations require their champs to defend their titles twice a year–one of those times against a mandatory challenger. The following with more details is from the WBC rules linked below (section 1.21):
“All WBC recognized champions must defend their title at least two (2) times a year. Champions will defend their titles either in a voluntary or mandatory defense…. All WBC champions are obligated to make at least one yearly mandatory defense”

Each of the different boxing organizations is out to make the most money possible out of it, so they may be a bit lenient with who the mandatory challenger is if they see some extra cash on the table. I think it’s also a money issue that they don’t like to see the titles unified, but I don’t completely understand that. The WBA even has a “superchampion” that becomes their new recognized champion if their regular champion unifies other titles also. (This is one of the things that has turned many people away from the “alphabet” titles.)

Your Questions About Title Loans

Lisa asks…

How do car title loans work?

barry0912 answers:

You must own your vehicle free and clear and be able to provide the title or similar document to the lender as collateral.

You typically have only 30 days to repay the loan. If you cannot repay the loan, the title lender will take your car. They will sell it and keep the difference between what you owe and what the car is worth.

They typically will lend you only 20% of the car’s value. So, they stand to benefit even if they have to sell your car.

The interest rates come out to about 350%, since the loan term is so short.

These are not beneficial loan terms. I recommend you don’t get a title loan. They are quite a bit like payday loans, but the consequences are more severe if you default.

Donna asks…

Are there any sites that do online title loans in tn?

i am trying to find a site that does personal loans either with collateral or not help

barry0912 answers:

I would not trust an online loan site with my personal information. You don’t know if you are giving a real company or a fake site your social security number, date of birth, etc. Besides, how would you get the money and how would they get your title. If you must make a title loan, go to a local company that you know has been in business more than a month.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing News

Ruth asks…

How can i play share market?

2 play share market n 1st of al ,i hvnt knowledge abou share

barry0912 answers:

If you haven’t a clue about the Stock Market, the simple answer is “DON’T.” There are opf course ways to learn but I don’t think the answer is to dive in at the deep end as Trading is simply another form of gambling. OK You might lose a few £s backing a horse but you stand to lose very large sums if you don’t know what you are doing. Just look at Barings and some recent news items – and these were professionals.
If you mean you want to INVEST and not simply make a quick buck, then you have to be patient, get to know the companies you want to invest in, although you might have to wait till the price reaches a realistic profit level or wait for the dividends to come in. Why not sign up to one of the internet publications (Citywire, Motley Fool etc) and open a Virtual Portfolio and try your hand for a few months using a an imaginary sum which you think you could afford to lose. In the end you might want to chance your luck or decide to go on line just to read the Dandy.

Your Questions About Anonymous Text

Betty asks…

Is it possible to send an anonymous text message and preset the time it will be sent?

I received a message anonymously and I want to know if it must have been sent exactly before I got it or if someone could have composed it at an earlier time and set it to be sent at the time I received it.

I believe it was sent using vtext.com but I cannot be sure.

barry0912 answers:

Only from the internet. Not from another phone

Susan asks…

Is there a way to send an anonymous text message?

Kinda like when you punch in *67 before dialing a number and your caller id won’t show up.

barry0912 answers:

Yes there is . . . But not like punching numbers. You can send anonymous text messages through most cell phone websites. For example at www.uscellular.com on their front page in the upper right you will see a header saying send a text message. But US Cellular asks for a legit 10 digit number both to and from. But I know I have put in a fake number before and it has still gone through.

I haven’t checked all cell phone company websites, but I assume they have similar functions on their websites. Good luck.
