Your Questions About Internet Marketing

Kindercold had some great advice. Beware though that with the Burn Marketing Method they do try to get you to buy into their monthly subscription.

There are some good sites out there with great information for sale. The trick is that you have to put in the work and time to make internet marketing work. I believe most people spend the money for these “systems” but, after reading all of the material and trying a couple of things, they stop and give up when they don’t get rich right away. It doesn’t work that way.

I belong to a membership site that has taught me a lot and given me some great tools. It has earned me a nice supplement to my normal income. I didn’t need to pay for the information, but it made the process of making money online so much faster then if I did all the research and trial and error on my own.

Having said that, there is a ton of information out there and it all just confuses most of us. What happens when you get a lot of varying info from different sources is “paralysis by analysis”. In other words you don’t do anything because you don’t know where to start. There’s just too much information.

I suggest that you go to the library and check out a book or two on internet marketing. Or go to the bookstore, buy a latte and read away. One of my favorite books is Moonlighting on the Internet by Yanik Silver. It gives a good overview of some different internet marketing avenues.

Good Luck

Vietnam websites about internet marketing?

I need to find some Vietnamese websites that deal with internet marketing, e-mail marketing, or simply community-based websites concerning Vietnam. Can anyone help me out? Thanks.
Thanks for the info on how wired Vietnam is… apparently not that much. Too bad you couldn’t provide me with some websites…. 🙁

barry0912 answers:

I do Web promotions in the U.S. And I’m currently in Hanoi, Vietnam for my wedding and to spend some time with my new wife.

Vietnam’s Internet infrastructure is very new, and traditional online marketing techniques used in the states may not be as effective here. Most of the Viet households don’t have computers and most of the Internet usage is done at Internet cafes. Therefore, search engines and online ads don’t penetrate the population as deeply as in the U.S.

On the other hand, most everyone here has an E-mail address. That in mind, E-mail marketing could be a very powerful online promotion tool as it is in the U.S.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Blog

Paul asks…

Internet marketing question?

My first time using Y!Answers so here goes:

I would like to know where i could find data, statistics about how implementation of various features in a website affects its traffic and bounce rate.

More detailed: i would like to know what is , on average, the potential gain in traffic of an online shopping web site for certain implemented features: polls, quizzes, personal blogs.

Thank you.

barry0912 answers:

I highly recommend Marketing Sherpa; http://www.marketingsherpa.com/

They have very useful statistics and metric data on what you’re looking for. My suggestions is that you simply start implementing the features you mentioned one by one and measure them with web analytics. Statistics are useful, and should be used as a general guideline. Online shopping is a very unique beast; every industry, every niche and even categories within niches, will always present quite different behaviors and performances, which are highly influenced by demographics, seasonality and other metrics.

At our agency, we are constantly optimizing our client’s websites beyond search. Conversion optimization is a key factor when it comes to shopping websites. Polls, quizzes, blogs, reviews, testimonials, etc, all play a role in it, but don’t always apply to every site.

Make this part of your interactive marketing efforts and you’ll be successful.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Services

Daniel asks…

What is Affiliate Internet Marketing ?

barry0912 answers:

It is internet marketing without your own product. You are essentially marketing the products or services of someone else. You, the affiliate marketer, will make commissions on every single sale you are responsible for. (i.e. If you lead a visitor to a merchant’s website and they make a purchase, you get paid)

There are many different methods and approaches to affiliate marketing so you can go about business in whatever way suits you best depending on your budget and how much time/effort you can invest in your ventures.

If you are new to marketing, i strongly advise using a guide so you can minimize the risks. Many people fall for scams, get stuck, or end up losing a lot of money trying to use a technique that isn’t suited for what they are trying to do. A lot of this can be easily avoided with proper guidance and it can save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

Theres a website called 404 reviews that explains various internet marketing methods along with lots of other useful info about internet marketing in general that can really help you out.

Building opt in list and affiliate marketing – effective internet marketing plan

Building opt in list and affiliate marketing have become synonymous to online success as an effective internet marketing strategy. For many online sites, building opt in list and affiliate marketing have proven quite profitable. Primarily because most online users are not exposed to any unscrupulous internet marketing strategies prevalent on the World Wide Web.

As an effective Internet marketing strategy, users are given the option to signup for information or service provided by a particular site. Building opt in list and affiliate marketing reduces the risk of spamming since the recipient voluntarily chooses to receive emails from a website. Plus, building opt in list and affiliate marketing provides a direct link to the subscriber that will help shape a formidable customer relationship that will keep on going.

The basics of building opt in list and affiliate marketing

Different websites have different ways of building opt in list and affiliate marketing. However there are some tried and tested formulas to help new affiliate marketers develop their own opt in listing for their site. The first and most important factor to determine in building opt in list and affiliate marketing is to establish the site’s target market.

Once the target market is established, building opt in list and affiliate marketing can be customized to meet their demands. This can be done using a variety of methods to convince site visitors to sign up for the site’s newsletter or e-zine. After signing up, the customer will begin to receive a variety of newsletters, e-zines and brochures that the customer had registered for.

Strategies for building opt in list and affiliate marketing

There are a number of strategies that affiliate marketers can use for building opt in list and affiliate marketing. One way of building opt in list and affiliate marketing is by purchasing or leasing a subscribers list from third-parties. This is usually done by affiliate marketers in order to get easy access to many people who have consented to receiving e-mails, newsletters and e-zines on various topics.

Although it is the fastest approach to building opt in list and affiliate marketing, this method does not provide a focused consumer group for building opt in list and affiliate marketing. In addition, it may cost an affiliate marketer more than what they expect to receive in sales. Fortunately, there are other ways for affiliate marketers to get the most out of building opt in list and affiliate marketing.

Enlisting for co-registration services is great for building opt in list and affiliate marketing. This service usually costs about 10 cents to 30 cents per subscriber but it easily translates into an average of three hundred subscribers daily to an affiliate marketer’s opt in list.

Writing articles is also an effective strategy for building opt in list and affiliate marketing. The articles can be published in various newsletters with specific links to the affiliate marketer’s site. This serves as a great introduction to potential subscribers that would encourage them to sign up for an opt in list.

Joint ventures are also a valuable strategy in building opt in list and affiliate marketing. Joint ventures are a hundred percent free and at the same time can add up to hundreds of subscribers to an opt in list daily.

Incentives for building opt in list and affiliate marketing

Building opt in list and affiliate marketing can also be encouraged by offering incentives to potential subscribers. This subtle form of encouragement for building opt in list and affiliate marketing often helps stir the interest of potential subscribers to sign up for the opt in list. There are a number of methods used in affiliate marketing to egg on potential subscribers to sign up.

Offering products and services in exchange for signing up is commonly practiced by many affiliate websites. Products may include special e-books or software that would be of interest to the subscriber. Another way to get subscribers to sign up is to offer them special services that are only available for site members.

Regardless of the incentive used for building opt in list and affiliate marketing, the most important factor to consider is how to keep the interest of the subscriber. Remember, it is just as easy for a subscriber to opt out of the list as it was to opt in to the list.

You can get opt-in services at aweber or getresponse, they will do everything for you and no spam complaints!

Thomas asks…

What are the five major types of marketing?

I was asked this on a job interview, and since I am an entry level candidate with no experience in marketing and advertising I was wondering what exactly they were looking for on this question.

Also, any tips on basic marketing and advertising information and stratagies would help. Thanks a bunch guys!

barry0912 answers:

There are numerous marketing methods which are prevalent in today’s economy, but five of them are dominating the world market as a whole; digital marketing, Internet marketing, affiliate marketing, multilevel marketing, and global marketing.

Digital Marketing:
Digital marketing or direct digital marketing, is a type of marketing in which a business uses purely electronic means to advertise their products and services. This type of marketing can be implemented through television, the internet, and even electronic billboards. Not only does this save a company in mailing costs, it also ensures that more people will be exposed to their products. Digital marketing has erupted from television commercials to the internet, then from the internet to phones and other portable digital devices such as the iPad, Kindle, etc.

Internet Marketing:
Like its relative digital marketing, Internet marketing uses electronic means to advertise to the public. Internet marketing employs email, banner ads, those annoying pop ups, etc. The internet is an ever-growing übermarket of seemingly limitless advertising space, and it continues to grow with evolving subsections of marketing such as affiliate marketing.

Affiliate Marketing :
Affiliate marketing is a type of marketing in which online advertisers and merchants share revenue with online salespeople or website owners through a compensation model that is based on certain performance measures such as Pay per Click, sales, registrations, or a model that combines any or all of these forms.

Multi-Level Marketing :
Multi-level marketing, or MLM, is a type of marketing in which consumer products are generally sold by individuals either in consumer’s homes or in a designated area of meeting. For instance, Avon, Tupperware, and Mary Kay are all forms of legitimate multi-level marketing. Multi-level marketers set their own hours and can earn money based on sales.

Global Marketing:
Global marketing is a form of marketing in which various international business allies form relationships and develop networks on a global scale. They work closely with one another’s home countries, their government officials, and the industry competitors in order to gain and develop a target market. In this type of advanced market, stakeholder benefits outweigh that of the company’s personal organizational objectives. In this case, stakeholders would be employees, the society in which a business is entering, the companies’ respective governments, etc.

Basic Marketing Strategies:
Inside the company’s marketing strategy is closely related to 3 main basic strengths including; Customer, Company /Corporation and Competition.A good marketing strategy includes three of the following:

1. A clear market definition.
2. A good collaboration between the company’s strengths and needs of the market.
3. Company performance is superior, active and responsive to various conditions of competition.

Basic Marketing Tips:
You are not what you sell
Set your goal
Don’t just stand there, show off
Keep them coming back
Grow. Change. Be better

Can anyone help me with a detailed affiliate marketing strategy?

I started getting involved in affiliate marketing a couple of months ago, but I feel like I am jumping all over and not getting anything accomplished. barry0912 answers:

Just like you I only started doing affiliate marketing about 3 months ago, but before that I had researched it for about 3 months. I came across a website for Matt Bacak, www.mattbacak.com, who is already a millionaire and I think he is only like 30 years old. He has several products that you can buy and also a newsletter that you can subscribe to you called Internet Marketing Dirt. I have found his products and even his free information on affiliate marketing strategy a ton better and more informative than anybody else’s that I have come across in the 3 months that I did research on affiliate marketing.

I have only been doing actual affiliate marketing part-time at nights and on weekends for 3 months, but I am seeing some pretty good income right now. It’s enough to pay my car payment as well as groceries for the month for our family of 3 so I can’t complain. And I know that it will only increase the more I work at it because I am learning how to be more efficient every day. Although I may never be able to quit my full-time job, I will continue to have this extra money for quite awhile, which means that my wife can stop working.

Anyways, check out Matt’s website and check out the different products as well as his newsletters as he has a great affiliate marketing strategy and is very willing to share it with anyone who will listen.

barry0912 answers:

Hi There!

To answer your questions: 1) eCommerce primarily applies to the methods used to sell products and services online (such as shopping cart software). Internet marketing refers to the methods used to build visibility for a product or service. Internet marketing methods include anything from building a website to writing articles, to other methods that have yet to be invented.

2) As for schools that offer an official degree, Full Sail seems to be the only school really promoting it. The thing is, I wouldn’t recommend an internet marketing degree, because the best internet marketing methods change every year, and in my experience, it is impossible for an institution to keep up with the “bleeding-edge” tools and tricks.

If it’s the actual degree you want/need, I’d recommend going for a business, marketing, or entrepreneurial degree, but learning internet marketing on your own. Internet marketing is a skill that is learned by doing, not just reading theory.

When I first got started, I took a free online course called the “Thirty Day Challenge”, in which each day you watched video tutorials that showed you how an online tool worked, and then you had to apply it to your own goal of making $1 online. The Thirty Day Challenge is now just called “The Challenge”, so you can take it at your own pace. I highly recommend it for learning internet marketing strategies.

3) Not sure if any of the internet marketing degrees are offered anywhere but on the internet 😉 You may have to keep looking, but as I said, seek out a related major, then teach yourself the techniques via eBooks and online courses.

If you’re college age, a potential employer may only offer you an internship (unpaid) anyway, UNLESS you have already gotten results (made money) for yourself or others. So you might as well learn how to use internet marketing on your own to get those results.

The irony is, once you’ve mastered the in-demand skill of internet marketing, you may not want to finish school OR work for anyone else.

Good luck!
