Your Questions About Internet Marketing News

John asks…

Do you live in one of the areas being hit hard by theives stealing plants?

I do. It has been all over the news here. Theives are jacking flower beds like crazy in my area. And I woke up this morning to find all of my rose bushes gone. Plants? I would have never thought that they’d be targeted. What about y’all?

barry0912 answers:

No, fortunately I do not. I suspect your stolen rose bushes will show up at a flea market or other seller’s venue. Personally, I’d be playing detective and when I’ve found my plants, I’d call the police immediately. Of course, the thieves may be selling them on one of the internet sites, too.

Sorry you suffered such a loss. I’d be steaming mad!

Where do you live? Where is this happening?

James asks…

What is the best book to purchase for a beginner to learn how to purchase stocks?

I would like to buy stocks over the internet, but I have no clue on what stocks to buy or how to do it.

barry0912 answers:

I am assuming that you are using “limited funds” to start “investing over the internet”…..but I am VERY CONCERNED with the “I have no clue on what stocks to buy..or how to do it”. Honestly, you are “exactly” the type of person who should NOT be trading/investing on your own…as another answer before me said “find a reputable professional”…it doesn’t matter what company he/she is with…their skill/knowledge and ethics are what matter most!!!

However…to answer your question…there are a HUGE number of books to “purchase”…..but if you’re posting on here…and you want to trade over the internet…USE THE INTERNET for what it was invented for…sharing knowledge!

BOOKS don’t “interact” with you…can’t let you “test drive” sample portfolios…backtest potential portfolios…learn about many different strategies/products, etc …..and cost you nothing more than you are already using for internet access.

Sooooo……Here is a “sample” of what I recently shared with a similar Yahoo Answers member……

This will be a fairly extensive listing of where to go to learn about stocks, bonds, personal finance, economic issues(stock related), etc etc etc……only because you sound like you earnestly want to know.

For STOCK/Mutual Fund/Options/Finance-related information:

**www.kiplingers.com (more “personal finance” than stocks…but that’s critical in life too…kiplinger newsletter and/or Kiplinger Personal Finance magazine!)
**www.fool.com (classes to sign up for, free, etc)
**www.seekingalpha.com (better for the “technical analysis” crowd)
**www.whispernumbers.com (professional and non-pro opinions…group think?…play it to your advantage?)
**www.yahoo.com (finance section…good site (that’s free) for tracking (delayed) your stock portfolio)
**www.msnbc.com (current “in-the-news” stuff)
**www.morningstar.com (mostly for funds…stocks too)
**www.dismalscientist.com (more MACRO-economic…for those who want to know “why, how…” things happen)
**www.888options.com (Great Options site, free options DVD and classes!)
**www.optionsmonster.com (Options site)
**www.CBOE.com (THE Options exchange, “Learning Center”/”Options Institute”=free classes!)
**www.lightbulbpress.com (easy to understand, quick read, booklets etc.)
**www.street.com (Cramer’s name to fame! “trader, not investor” related advice mostly!)
**www.horsesmouth.com (a stock/stock market barometer!)
**www.bankrate.com (good resource on rates, and much more!)

And…sooooo many more… I’ll save “financial Calculator” websites (for everything you can imagine, and many that you can’t) for another time!!! Oh, these are “off the top of my head”…..there are many others that I’ve gone “blank” on…and may add later, after I check my work computer (since I’ve saved the shortcuts on several, I don’t remember the actual addresses!…silly me!!!)

Study hard…don’t lose your money “guessing”…study/read first…then take a “gamble?” (pun intended)…and/or find an above average/ethical professional to do the work for you.

***Oh, yeah….all of the above information should be FREE for all/overwhelming majority of the information…AND “Most traders/investors” don’t know about them. Also, NEVER buy those newsletters, etc you’ll get “pitched”…use these sites…and think for yourself…or hire a “personal” advisor who knows you and what your goals, needs, etc are.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing News

Michael asks…

Is there a real working automated Forex trader out on the market?

No scams or fake sites please, just real information and programs that you can access through the internet.

barry0912 answers:

The Federal government warns there are a lot of Forex frauds out there, and these Forex robots appear to be one type of these scams. If these robots really worked, there would be scads of articles about them in the Wall Street Journal and other financial publications talking about them. When I do a web search, I can not find a single reputable news article encouraging the use of Forex robots. The link below is a Federal website warning you about Forex fraud.

There are a lot of people on the Internet claiming they have done very well using Forex robots. These appear to be of two types. One is the outright liars. For instance, you might meet a person called “Zboy227” who says “I made a lot of money using ScamRobot2000, go to their website at ScamRobot .com/Zboy227.” The “/Zboy227” tells the website that Zboy227 has referred you. If you buy the product, Zboy227 gets a commission. He is only lying to you to get a commission.

There is a lot of luck in Forex. Sometimes you will run into people on the web who have tried a robot for a few days and have had some beginner’s luck with it. They start bragging about how well they have done. Later, they start to lose money, but they rarely get back on the web and talk about how much money they lost. People like to brag about their successes, but rarely talk about their losses. The result is that much of the feedback about these Forex robots is positive.

I may point out that websites that sell Forex robots admit there are a lot of scams out there. Of course they claim the other guy’s robot is a scam, but their robot works. If you do a web search on the words “forex robot” and “scam” you will find a lot of sites saying their competitors are scams.

I will admit I have not personally tested every robot out there, and I can not prove they are all scams. But I would be very hesitant to spend a lot of money on a robot without clear proof it really works.

Steven asks…

How can I learn more about my target market?

My customers tend to be middle class homeowners over the age of forty. How can I learn more about such a broad target market? Thanks for your responses, and have a great day.

barry0912 answers:

That Guy Drew,

A well-defined target market is the first element to a marketing strategy. I would like to appreciate your interest to study the target market. Learning about the communities, about the age you mentioned would be truly hard. Still, you may get it from the Internet, as some news letters.

Some articles would always help.

Psychology e-books would help us in this regard.

This link would help you may be. At least gives a hint to get along.

Good luck.

barry0912 answers:

Typically, when a property transfers ownership and a mortgage is put in place, there are two types of policies issued.
1. Mortgagee Policy (covers the lender’s mortgage and insures that it is the first, best lien on the property)
2. Owner’s Policy (covers the new owner’s interest in the property)

Think of it this way. You carry insurance on your car, in case there is an accident. The insurance pays for damages that may occur to your car in the future.

You (hopefully) will carry homeowner’s insurance, which will pay for damages to your house in case of a fire, etc in the future.

Your Owner’s Policy of Title Insurance protects you against things that may have happened in the past. You pay a one-time fee that is collected at closing, that insures that no one else holds any interest in your new property (except for the lender on your new mortgage). It is your proof that the chain of title was clear up until the date and time that you deed filed, and no one can claim that they are “owed” something from your home.

Examples:
1. A previous owner died, and one of the heirs did not get their portion of the proceeds from the sale of the property.

2. A previous owner divorced and their spouse did not get their half of the proceeds from the sale of the property.

3. A lien was filed against a prior owner that was never paid off and released.

If, in the future, you decide to refinance or sell the property, a new title search may be done. Chances are that a different examiner will do the search. If they come across something that shows a problem with your title prior to the date/time your deed filed, the owner’s policy protects you against that claim. You can file a claim against the underwriter who issues the owner’s policy for payment of any losses incurred.

Get an owner’s policy, and keep it with your important documents.

Is it okay to get shots for our puppy at a pet store?

They have a handout with information and a site:

Also, what shots should she be getting at 11 weeks? Including what she should have gotten earlier. She’s a chow chow and golden retriever mix. Thank you!

Hi Daisy…consider contacting some of the area shelters in LA and ask them who offers discounted veterinary care for senior citizens.

American Animal Hospital Association
http://www.aahahelpingpets.org/home/
“The heartbreak happens all too often…a pet owner is unable to afford treatment and their sick or injured companion animal pays the price. If the owner is elderly, disabled or on a fixed income, the cost of care may be too much of a stretch for their pocketbook.
Perhaps they have been victimized by crime, property loss or a job layoff and are experiencing a temporary financial hardship…making it too difficult to afford pet care.
And some animals, brought to clinics by Good Samaritans, don’t have an owner to pay for treatment. Whatever the situation, the fact remains the same: When sick or injured animals are unable to receive veterinary care, they suffer. Through the AAHA Helping Pets Fund, veterinary care is possible for sick or injured pets even if they have been abandoned or if their owner is experiencing financial hardship.”

Our work is accomplished in conjunction with veterinary clinics across the country, eager to assist as many animals, and their owners, as possible. Our services range from financial aid to complete treatment to those pets and pet owners in need.”

I created a blog on my yahoo page on home based business opportunities. There are over half a dozen different opportunities from different industries. People that I know that do really well in theres and help others that are in the same industry. It also has a lot of information about the truth with scams, BBB and what you need to do to succeed in your home based business. Things to look for when collaborating with a company to see if it’s legit. Time factors etc. You also need to talk to someone who is involved in the industry and not just try and do it on your own. You should be able to have help.
