Your Questions About Anonymous Content

Sharon asks…

How do you report defamation email from a John Doe using a yahoo email address?

John Doe sets up anonymous email with yahoo, goes to a public place to send demfamatory falsehoods about people in an organization. Doe accuses criminal actions by members and cautions me that I am liable to report criminal actions to authorities. I am the 3rd party recipient of the email; however, Doe likely is a member of the organization. Specific content stated by Doe is known by individuals in organization. In addition to acusations of criminal actions, Doe portrays certain individuals as diseased and uses intentional defamatory statements to cause people to resign. IP traces to public location; therefore, protecting Doe’s anonymous identity. Emotional distress resulted to accused individuals, leaving no recourse due to Doe’s anonymous identity. What recourse do individuals have when Doe chooses to mask false statements and defamation of character behind fake yahoo address. Free speech does not include defamation of private citizens. Any ideas?

How can I protect a forums from hacker attacks?

A year ago a hacker by the name of “Anonymous” has started attacking my friends forums by changing signatures into porn links. However as of last week, he has turn Malicious and completely override the site and downloaded a trojan and change every content into “sex”.

This attacker won’t stop. Even after changing administration codes, he won’t stop assaulting. Is there anyway to protect against him or track him down?
I forgot…

The host is I.P Board which is suppose to be strong against hackers and was used by many companies.

barry0912 answers:

With extreme difficulty, and as a novice in the hacking world, probably impossible.

They will have protected themselves against detection and reverse attacks, so unless you engage the services of an experienced hacker with more talent than your attacker to target them, the only thing I can suggest is take down the forums, find a more secure server and start up new ones.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Strategies

Steven asks…

What kind of marketing strategy that apple follow to market their iPod and iPhone???

This question is always in my head and I need an answer. I really consider them the smartest company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

barry0912 answers:

The marketing strategy behind the ipod and iphone is ease of use, you can simply see and touch, and the all in one features, you don’t need anything else.. Your phone, pager, music, videos, are all in one. And you can access the Internet from it also. They have lots of memory so you won’t run out.. Most mp3’s etc have limited memory, they also target the young adults
although the 2nd answer has good points there are a few things that go against normal marketing methods, yes it’s people that sell things, but if the product is bad, no person can sell it. Products do sell themselves if they are marketed right. Ipod does not use a person to sell but the product instead. And being the first to market something is often the key to the products success. Being 1st and unique is easier than being 2nd and trying to compete with the first product. And people don’t buy products simply because they are surprised, they buy for different reasons, need, desire, price, are all considerations. The 2nd answerer lists selling techniques for salespeople not marketing methods for manufacturers

Chris asks…

define marketing?

barry0912 answers:

If your definition of “marketing” embraces Internet “marketing,” then read the following strategy.

You may want to consider some simple algorithms which, when observed and committed in designing of a website with placement of various critical metatags that can surely achieve a high search engine presence and increase Internet traffic to your website. These metatag strategies work well with published webpages at Google and Yahoo.

Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based website, make sure to fill-in the property entries such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing to do so, leaves no hard HTML or ALT resource that can be readily indexed by search robots.

A non-Flash-based website which relies on hard text, is far easier to be indexed by search robots. Limit the use of stylized text saved as .gifs since as a graphic, they are not indexable by search robots.

Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots are unable to properly classify textual material.

Placement of Metatags:

A ranking or search order does take place with Google and Yahoo and it begins with the “Title” metag which should consist of no more than 65 characters separated by commas. The “Title” should describe in generic terms, the goods and services, followed by a location from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state. The placement of a domain name which is not generic within the “Title” is not appropriate, unless your domain name is a major recognizable brand name.

The second metatag is the “Description” which is usually 25-30 words to form a complete sentence which best describes one’s goods and services.

And the very last category – “Keywords” are also somewhat limited to 15-16 words which can be plural and compound in nature. Again, avoid multiple entries which could be mistaken as “spamdexed entries” which is defined as the loading, and submission of repetitive words into a particular metatag category. “Spamdexing” when discovered on a webpage and reported to Google’s spamreport.com can result in the elimination of your website from their search directory.

Here’s an example of a very highly-placed website on Yahoo.com: Begin with the search query “pizza downtown los angeles.” It will bring up some 1.4 million+ websites as results. Check out where “Pizza Next Door” is ranked. It’s in the Top Five! Again, Pizza Next Door’s high web presence was achieved by proper web design and placement of relevant metatags according to Yahoo’s publication guidelines.

Good luck!

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Strategies

Donna asks…

Marketing Timeline?

Could some of you internet business owners tell me how you started your business, your marketing timeline? What did you do first and then after you got started. Press release? Media? SEO work?

barry0912 answers:

Marketing is a continuous everyday work. You do everything simultaneously because there is no single way where you can get traffic so you need to make sure that every possible source of traffic is reached

My suggested timeline is:

BEFORE LAUNCHING THE WEBSITE

– Do an extensive keyword research analysis. SEOBook.com has a very good listing of free tools http://tools.seobook.com/ that you can use to research the keywords for your site including: keyword density, determining the keywords you want to target, who are your competitors for your targeted keywords.

– Start mapping out your link strategy. You need to start making a list of who should link to you and where you can request for links.

– Start thinking of how you can get the word out about your business. Do you plan on writing articles? Will you harness viral marketing? Be sure to equip your site with tools Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that’s additional traffic that you get for FREE!

Recommend Site Scripts (various) http://php.resourceindex.com/Complete_Scripts/Website_Promotion/Recommend_Site/
Big Nose Bird Recommend this Site http://bignosebird.com/carchive/birdcast.shtml
CGI Resource Index http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/Website_Promotion/Recommend_Site/
Hostscripts http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Site_Recommendation/index.html

– Beta test your site and start inviting people (if applicable). If you are planning a social networking site for example, you can do a soft-launch for your site and invite people you know or friends of your friends to try out the site. This way you can iron out the kinks before you do your full blast marketing

UPON LAUNCHING

– Make sure your on-page factors (e.g. Title, metatags, keyword densities) are right on-target

– Issue a press release announcing the launch of your new site. Press releases are also a way to get inbound one-way links to your website. Here are some places where you can submit your press release for free

http://www.przoom.com/

– Submit your site to the major search engines. If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com’s “Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day.” http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm

SEO for MSN http://www.powerhomebiz.com/052006/msn.htm
Tying It Together: SEO For The Big Three http://www.powerhomebiz.com/052006/seo.htm

– Start submitting requests for links. You will find that some will not link to you because you have 0 pagerank because your site is new. But start submitting to DMOZ and other directories and build your pagerank

– Do offline marketing. Whether you are planning to print brochures or do direct marketing, now is also the time to do them

AFTER YOU LAUNCH

– Try to do marketing at least 1 hour every day – whether asking for reciprocal links, submitting articles or submitting your site to directories

– Keep abreast of what’s happening with the search engines.

– Do email marketing or send a newsletter on a regular basis

Robert asks…

Piano Store Marketing Strategy?

I have invested in a Piano Store recently and was wondering what would be the best means of communicating with my target customer i.e. younger parents with kids in the range 5-10.

Does anybody have any experience with creating a Marketing Plan or Strategy for a Piano Store?

If I was to tie-in with a Brand or product; what would be the best options?

Any suggestions please?

barry0912 answers:

Although it predates the record album as an entertainment source, I guess your business has not entirely vanished yet, but it certainly has to be marketed differently than 20 years ago, I assume the manufacturers touch on traditional family values, as well as the decorative value of a traditional instrument.

One potential method to reach a small number of local prospects may be with paid Facebook advertisements, their demographic targeting is quite powerful, you can have ads only appear for married women between 25 and 40 who live in cities in close proximity to your location, there may be an “interest” like piano playing you may be able to target as well, they show you the potential reach of members a given ad setting would have, you could have such ads send people to a free Facebook business page.
While on the subject of internet resources you for sure need to have (and probably already do) a free Google Places page, they may provide a generic listing automatically, but you need to claim it and improve the content with more lengthy text, photos an potentially even video.

Sorry I m not more in touch with how kids are introduced to e piano these days, perhaps you can be a sponsor of some school events for the publicity and music evangelist opportunities, there are some cities (where the weather is friendly) that have old pianos in public places setup by some non profits.

Michael asks…

wii internet accessories?

where do i buy wii internet accessories in INDIA,like nintenodo wifi usb connector etc……any good shopping website in INDIA thats has it … then please let me know……

barry0912 answers:

Wii Internet

Online gaming is a market that no video game company wants to miss, and Nintendo is no exception. With that in mind, Nintendo not only designed the Wii to let players compete against each other online, but it also added an entirely different aspect of the Internet to its newest system-browsing. Once the Wii has been hooked up to the Internet, either wirelessly or with an Ethernet cable, you can purchase Wii Internet for $5. The full version of the Internet Channel, which is a version of the Opera 9 Web browser, was launched in April of 2007 and it allows Wii owners to surf the Web in a unique fashion. The font is much larger than it is on a computer, so it is a lot easier to see from the comfort of your couch. You can also zoom in and out and scroll up, down and sideways using the Wii remote.
The Wii Internet Channel takes only a few seconds to launch, mostly because it stays connected to the Internet even when it is powered off. The software is saved on the 512 MB Wii internal flash memory. The software can also be transferred to an SD card after you download it, although temporary Internet files will remain on the internal memory. The Opera-based browser can support a host of Web 2.0 technologies and applications including:
CSS
JavaScript
Ajax
RSS
Adobe Flash 7
Widgets
The biggest gripe about the Wii Internet Channel is that the browser does not support Adobe Flash 8 or 9. According to Opera, the reason that the browser does not support the later versions of Flash is that a software development kit is not yet available for either version. Because Opera utilizes an older version of Flash, problems may arise while you are trying to view certain Flash videos. Aside from the problems on the user’s side, Nintendo is also having a bit of trouble with the Wii Internet Channel. Apparently, hackers have found a loophole in the system that allows them to run their own code on the Wii console. The loophole is in the Flash Player embedded within the browser and could allow hackers to create video game emulators. That sounds like a great loophole, right? Not if you’re Nintendo. One of their potential moneymakers is the Virtual Console, which charges gamers between $5 and $10 for unlimited access to a retro title.

The Wii can use an Internet connection in more ways than just browsing. There are also free applications such as Wii’s News and Forecast Channels. The News Channel provides you with a view of the globe, which allows you to view news by region if you wish. The Forecast Channel also gives you a view of the globe, but this view also shows current weather systems around the world. If you zoom out far enough, you can see an accurate star map in the background. Since you register your Wii’s locations, it also knows what you’re looking for in the way of a local forecast.

Wii Accessories
The Nintendo Wii, like every other video game console, has some controller variations and other accessories available for serious gamers. Some of the accessories are very useful, while others merely add to the aesthetic value. Some examples of Wii accessories that fall into the “looks good, but not very useful” category are the plastic attachments for the Wii remote that make it look like a tennis racket, golf club or baseball bat. Nothing about the Wii or the game you’re playing changes — the attachments just transform your Wii remote into a prop. There are also boxing gloves that can house the Wii remote and Nunchuck. Just like the plastic attachments, these gloves don’t change anything about the game, except for the fact that you don’t actually have to hold onto the controllers.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Company

Betty asks…

Why we choose internet marketing? please suggest me any example too?

barry0912 answers:

The Internet marketing mix that your choose is a very personal choice. Many factors go into what will work for your company; and remember what works for one company may not work for all companies. Also, I suggest, at the very least, discussing this with an Internet marketing company to ensure, you’ve covered all of your bases.

Things that affect the decision on which Internet marketing services to choose, include:
Company size
Ability of company employees (and owner) to conduct their own marketing initiatives
Goals of company (financial and non-financial)
Products and services offered
Marketing budget
Age of the company
Location of the company
Company’s reputation

Start with this process:

Come up with 3 – 5 objectives that you would like your new marketing plan to achieve and when you would like to achieve them (3 months, 6 months, 1 year)
Are they prone to take several days to make a purchase?
Do they only shop during the weekdays?
Do they own computers in their homes?
Do they have access to the Internet while at work and at home?
Do they make purchases for themselves? For their family? For their friends?
Do some demographic research to discover who your customer base is and how (or if) they make purchases online
Do some research to see what your competitors are doing and where they are advertising their products and services. Do they offer special promotions? Do they partner with other companies to offer free items or services?

Paid Search
Email Marketing
SEM
Social Media Marketing

Article Marketing
Research the different types of marketing available and how these tactics react under the circumstances that you’ve already researched above (i.e. Customer demographic, location, product/service offered, pricing, etc.); I would suggest having an Internet marketing company help you with this, you may be able to find a company that will assist you with this brainstorming and research and then will create a plan for you and send you off to implement the plan (this is a less expensive way of doing things). There are literally hundreds of tactics that can go into your

marketing mix:
Test things out, not everything on the plan may work or work well
Keep an eye out for additional marketing or promotional opportunities that may arise
Revisit your plan (with your marketing company) at least once a year or if your objectives change
Begin to implement the services that you (and your marketing firm) have come up with

Jenny asks…

Is Online Shopping relate to Internet Marketing?

Is Online Shopping relate to Internet Marketing?

Can you give me the reasons why it relate??

barry0912 answers:

Sure they relate. Company’s use online Marketing to either get you to buy online or to buy over the phone. For instance if I was working for a Mortgage Company, I would advertise low rates. I would than post these rates with a link that includes the name of my mortgage company on common real estate websites. On my own company website I might include a free quote analysis but than post a 1-800 number. After you do the free online quote you would probably have questions. So you call the 1-800 number and talk to a mortgage officer. This potential sale became possible because I had posted a Marketing link on a website with the target demographic.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Company

Michael asks…

How can i use internet for marketing my products ?

barry0912 answers:

The Internet has also become a large market for companies; some of the biggest companies today have grown by taking advantage of the efficient nature of low-cost advertising and commerce through the Internet, also known as e-commerce. It is the fastest way to spread information to a vast number of people simultaneously. The Internet has also subsequently revolutionized shopping—for example; a person can order a CD online and receive it in the mail within a couple of days, or download it directly in some cases. The Internet has also greatly facilitated personalized marketing which allows a company to market a product to a specific person or a specific group of people more so than any other advertising medium.

Examples of personalized marketing include online communities such as MySpace, Friendster, Orkut, Facebook and others which thousands of Internet users join to advertise themselves and make friends online. Many of these users are young teens and adolescents ranging from 13 to 25 years old. In turn, when they advertise themselves they advertise interests and hobbies, which online marketing companies can use as information as to what those users will purchase online, and advertise their own companies’ products to those users.

barry0912 answers:

Google “SEO providers” or “SEO company” or something like that and your local Google search engine will rank the best ones on top.

One thing, for SEO you don’t really need any local company. Any company located anywhere in the world can cater to your needs, doing SEO does not in any way depend on location. So any company will do as long as they are good, have good clients that can tell you about the company’s quality of service and reliability.
