Your Questions About Anonymous Mask

Mandy asks…

Why do people feel the desire to wear a mask that does not nearly show who they are behind it?

I already know some reasons, such as fear of others’ reactions to who they truly are, but I just want to know other reasons, and personal experiences as well, if you are willing.

Does that mask allow you to act freely and completley opposite of who you are? Or, in other words, do you feel the need to be anonymous to do what goes against your nature?
For those that constantly fake their true identity for whatever reasons, have you lost who you are in the process?

barry0912 answers:

Intricate questioning… I really agree that most people fear others’ rejection to who they really are. This is the bulk percentage. I also agree that a mask allows one to act freely, but only as they truly are. If it is a physical mask such as that worn in plays or this avatar, it might allows some to truly express themselves. But if we’re talking about figurative masks, such as displays of a certain personality or use of heavy makeup or embelliment with lifestyle, clothes, etc, then I believe they are displays of insecurity. They are used to cover up deep insecurities and the point is to portray someone who is opposite in nature.

For people who are stage-shy but have talent, their best act could happen with a mask on, or their hair wildly disguising their upfront image. That is because these people are introverted and rich with thoughts, ideas, and emotions and have more to show that stems from inside, leaving them all the more feeling vulnerable. A mask then allows the freedom to be oneself and feel exposed without really exposing the identity that would mean more profound feelings of vulnerability for such sensitive persons. A person of this nature would be prone to wear thick, “physical” masks such as a thoughtful gaze that fronts a deep inner life.

If you’re always in the pack you need only be superficial to belong and if that is your habit then wearing a mask really would hold less meaning. A person of this nature would be more prone then to wear more superficial masks, such as an affect or light disposition that fronts a more superficial inner life.

How do you know people fake their identity? What if it’s real? Many avatars are fragments of a complex inner life, aren’t they? You are “tennis guy”, but aren’t you also a “math champ” or “musician” or “student” or “millionaire” or “American Idol tryout”? (Had to scratch out the “husband” after I read your profile!LOL) We never know many aspects of of a person, however multifaceted behind an avatar at any given moment. It comes down to people’s multiple interests, I guess.

Paul asks…

How can i make an anonymous costume?

I’m trying to make the infamous green body anonymous costume (not the guy fawkes one). I have a good idea on how to make the mask, but how can I make skin tight gloves that go up my arms?

tl;dr: how do I make super long, green skin tight gloves?

barry0912 answers:

Congratulations on your costume idea, it’s quite original! 🙂
for the gloves, I can’t give you any advice if you want to make them yourself, but if you are going to buy them, then I can help you. You have to find gloves that are something like 26-27 inches long (it’s possible that instead of a measure in inches you find the mentions “16B” or “18B”, it stands for the length of the gloves in “buttons”; I would then suggest you to look for 18B gloves. For the gloves to fit very tight, there need to be at least 15-20% spandex in the fabric. From my experience it’s not easy to find such gloves; I would advise you to look for them in more specialised shops like bridal shops or shops that sells formal dresses.

Good luck on your search!!!

Your Questions About Anonymous Surfing

James asks…

What is a good program to use for anonymous Internet surfing?

A lot has happened in these past five years and although I don’t really feel any safer now than I did in 2001, I DO feel like Americans have more to fear from their government than from any terrorist. However, I don’t think that RIGHT NOW I have any real concerns about using the web, but who the hell knows what the laws will be in the future…?

Your Questions About Anonymous

Susan asks…

What should I do? An anonymous letter was sent to my organization maliciously destroying my integrity?

Recently, my organization head received an anonymous letter saying I did extortion and accepted bribe money for the past two years? The writer is unknown, no address, and it mentions no specific victim of extortion. It contains no lead to a fact of the complain. Honestly, I did not do any such unethical acts!. My supervisor and boss said they will review the over a thousand cases of my work for the past two years, and I am not afraid. What will I do? Who could have done this to me?

barry0912 answers:

You may never know who sent the letter. While its normal to wonder, it can also drive you crazy.

The most important thing in this situation is to remain calm, keep your cool, smile, cooperate and go about your work. Do not allow the inquiry to interfere with your continuing to do a good job.

Second, your organization should contain any possible damage to your reputation. If they feel the need to look into the letter, then fine. Not knowing all the facts, its hard to say if they are acting correctly in even responding this way. They should, however, act in a manner that respects your reputation. The inquiry should be limited to what’s necessary to produce results, and the people involved should be limited only to those that can offer necessary and relevant information and / or have an absolute need to know in order to complete the inquiry. That’s normally legal, HR, your supervisor(s) and other employees that have direct and personal knowledge of important facts. They should do what’s necessary to finish the inquiry as soon as reasonably possible so everyone can put the incident behind the organization.

The specific rules on these matters differ by country and state. Also, the allegations can be criminal, which is fairly serious. I would consider consulting with an employment lawyer in your area. I would avoid involving counsel in the discussions with your employer, and I might even hesitate to make public the fact you are consulting with counsel. That tends to put the discussion on an adversarial footing, some people will react negatively (assume you have something to hide), and it may appear as if your concerned and not cooperating. Having said that, getting some advice in the background is always a good thing … And you can work with your counsel on when, or if, its ever reasonable to involve him / her in the matter.

Good Luck.

Chris asks…

How do I become truly anonymous on the internet?

I already use tor what else can I do because I heard of the government getting passed tor’s security. Is there a computer I can by that is without IP or something. I currently have a mac book are there settings I should turn off or on. How do I become truly anonymous on the internet?

barry0912 answers:

If you don’t have an IP address then it is physically impossible for you to be on the internet. End of story.

The best option would be to use Tor AND pay for a professional VPN that DOES NOT keep any IP records period (some do even though they say they protect identity). Additionally use a browser which randomizes the user agent per every webpage, does not keep cookies, and does not support java.

True anonymity is impossible without getting into a main internet line without the use of an ISP.

Your Questions About Titleist

Thomas asks…

what is the difference in the titleist pro v1 and the prov1x?

i’ve also seen the the pro v1 2007 balls for sale, what is the difference in the 2007 balls and the other years?

barry0912 answers:

The prov1 spins more, and is meant for someone seeking more stopping capability around the green. The prov1x spins less and is meant for someone with a lot of clubhead speed looking for a bit more distance and who doesnt need any more spin around the greens.

As far as changes go from pre 2007. They are minor.

The staggered wave parting is meant to give more consistent ball flight and roll. A.I.M. Or allignment integrated marking…titleist has found the equator of the ball for you and put the little arrows to help you lign up the ball.

Also, titleist claims a softer core, better feel. Those are the big differences from one generation of golf ball to the next in the prov1/prov1x era.

Good luck

Betty asks…

Why do some Titleist AP1 look different in pictures?

When I look at pictures of Titleist AP1s sometimes they have indents on the top bar and some have just a straight bar like the ap2s

barry0912 answers:

The 2010 model looks different than the 2011 model. The same thing goes for the AP2. That may be the reason.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Degree

Sandra asks…

WHAT IS DIRECT MARKETING?

AND WHAT ARE SOME ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF THIS METHOD? PLEASE HELP THANKS XX

barry0912 answers:

Direct marketing usually refers to marketing or advertising your product or service direct to the consumer or business that will use it. Direct marketing is primarily considered direct mail advertising. Some may also include internet marketing in the mix since that can be targeting to some extent. The advantage is that your message can be targeted to those most likely to be interested or to purchase your product or service. The disadvantage is that it may not be the best venue for some products. It depends on what you want to accomplish with your message and your target. Another advantage is that it is measurable. You send out a certain number of pieces of mail and receive a certain number back. Based upon the response rate you can tell if your advertising is working or not and to what degree. If you use other media such as radio or TV you cannot accurately measure your level of success. If you are advertising on TV and/or radio and your business increases then that is likely where it is coming from but there is no accurate way to measure it. With direct marketing you have an order or response in your hands and you can measure your success based upon the responses. Another disadvantage is that you cannot respond to rapid changes in the market with direct marketing as you could with other media. It takes time to design, print and mail to the consumer. With TV or radio the ad could be done today and on the air the next day.

Mary asks…

Getting into marketing?

Hello,
I am just about to enter my final year as an undergraduate psychology student, having already received offers to do a psychology masters when I finish my degree I’m not too sure it’s what I want to do. For a while now I’ve been interested in marketing and I feel Perhaps I have chosen the wrong degree. However, as I have no experience, (I live in a very very rural place with literally no internships or anything) I’m not sure whether I should risk turning down my masters offers.

I’m debating emailing some companies that are based in large cities and basically asking if upon completing my undergraduate degree they would be interested in taking me on. I would have plenty of experience with IT and analytical and research skills from my degree and If I was to gain employment in marketing I would enrol in evening business courses.

To cut a long story short, can I actually ask this of them? Is this cheeky? Is there anyway I can get into the marketing world?

Please help?

barry0912 answers:
