Your Questions About Internet Marketing Strategies

Donna asks…

Marketing Timeline?

Could some of you internet business owners tell me how you started your business, your marketing timeline? What did you do first and then after you got started. Press release? Media? SEO work?

barry0912 answers:

Marketing is a continuous everyday work. You do everything simultaneously because there is no single way where you can get traffic so you need to make sure that every possible source of traffic is reached

My suggested timeline is:

BEFORE LAUNCHING THE WEBSITE

– Do an extensive keyword research analysis. SEOBook.com has a very good listing of free tools http://tools.seobook.com/ that you can use to research the keywords for your site including: keyword density, determining the keywords you want to target, who are your competitors for your targeted keywords.

– Start mapping out your link strategy. You need to start making a list of who should link to you and where you can request for links.

– Start thinking of how you can get the word out about your business. Do you plan on writing articles? Will you harness viral marketing? Be sure to equip your site with tools Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more – that’s additional traffic that you get for FREE!

Recommend Site Scripts (various) http://php.resourceindex.com/Complete_Scripts/Website_Promotion/Recommend_Site/
Big Nose Bird Recommend this Site http://bignosebird.com/carchive/birdcast.shtml
CGI Resource Index http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/Website_Promotion/Recommend_Site/
Hostscripts http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Site_Recommendation/index.html

– Beta test your site and start inviting people (if applicable). If you are planning a social networking site for example, you can do a soft-launch for your site and invite people you know or friends of your friends to try out the site. This way you can iron out the kinks before you do your full blast marketing

UPON LAUNCHING

– Make sure your on-page factors (e.g. Title, metatags, keyword densities) are right on-target

– Issue a press release announcing the launch of your new site. Press releases are also a way to get inbound one-way links to your website. Here are some places where you can submit your press release for free

http://i-newswire.com/

http://www.theopenpress.com/
http://www.przoom.com/
http://www.prweb.com

– Submit your site to the major search engines. If you are going to read only one piece on search engine optimization, I suggest you read Brett Tabke of WebmasterWorld.com’s “Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone: 26 steps to 15k a day.” http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/2010.htm

SEO for MSN http://www.powerhomebiz.com/052006/msn.htm
Tying It Together: SEO For The Big Three http://www.powerhomebiz.com/052006/seo.htm

– Start submitting requests for links. You will find that some will not link to you because you have 0 pagerank because your site is new. But start submitting to DMOZ and other directories and build your pagerank

– Do offline marketing. Whether you are planning to print brochures or do direct marketing, now is also the time to do them

AFTER YOU LAUNCH

– Try to do marketing at least 1 hour every day – whether asking for reciprocal links, submitting articles or submitting your site to directories

– Keep abreast of what’s happening with the search engines.

– Do email marketing or send a newsletter on a regular basis

Robert asks…

Piano Store Marketing Strategy?

I have invested in a Piano Store recently and was wondering what would be the best means of communicating with my target customer i.e. younger parents with kids in the range 5-10.

Does anybody have any experience with creating a Marketing Plan or Strategy for a Piano Store?

If I was to tie-in with a Brand or product; what would be the best options?

Any suggestions please?

barry0912 answers:

Although it predates the record album as an entertainment source, I guess your business has not entirely vanished yet, but it certainly has to be marketed differently than 20 years ago, I assume the manufacturers touch on traditional family values, as well as the decorative value of a traditional instrument.

One potential method to reach a small number of local prospects may be with paid Facebook advertisements, their demographic targeting is quite powerful, you can have ads only appear for married women between 25 and 40 who live in cities in close proximity to your location, there may be an “interest” like piano playing you may be able to target as well, they show you the potential reach of members a given ad setting would have, you could have such ads send people to a free Facebook business page.
While on the subject of internet resources you for sure need to have (and probably already do) a free Google Places page, they may provide a generic listing automatically, but you need to claim it and improve the content with more lengthy text, photos an potentially even video.

Sorry I m not more in touch with how kids are introduced to e piano these days, perhaps you can be a sponsor of some school events for the publicity and music evangelist opportunities, there are some cities (where the weather is friendly) that have old pianos in public places setup by some non profits.

Linda asks…

What is internet marketing in SEO?

Hi to all,
Can you please explain me about internet marketing in SEO

barry0912 answers:

Internet Marketing :- A concentrated marketing effort applied through the Internet. These include lead generation activities such as SEO and SEM, affiliate marketing, banner ads and emails. More importantly internet marketing also includes market analyses, benchmarking, performance measurement and customer relationship management.
Internet marketing, also referred to as i-marketing, web marketing, online marketing, or eMarketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.

The importance of Internet marketing strategies has increased with the growth and importance of the Internet. Most established companies are vying online space today and seek to adopt web marketing strategies to increase traffic to their company’s homepage. Internet marketing helps add potential customers and the number of quality leads to your website as well. In fact, most organizations can adopt Internet marketing and advertising strategies to generate better business.

Internet marketing tools can be used to find the hotspot of your website — the place that gets the most traffic. These tools can also help ensure a top ranking for your site or software programs to repair broken links.

Another way to increase your revenue via Internet marketing is to use keyword suggestion tools. Keyword research is a very important aspect of an Internet marketing campaign. If a site is not targeting the right keywords, in all probability it is losing potential customers. Low rankings, as a result of bad keywords, could translate to low earnings as well. A better approach is to find out what the popular keywords related to your product or service and analyze the search volumes for them. Many keyword research tools can be found online.

Internet marketing can be enhanced by enriching one’s website. Great designs and content might better attract users to a particular website. Aesthetically please sites generally attract more visitors but so do functional sites. While a site should be visually pleasing and reach out to a broadly-defined demographic group, it should also be user-friendly.

Keeping an eye on the effectiveness of an Internet marketing strategy is also important. Internet marketing is not all about huge advertising costs and a successful website launch. The effectiveness of marketing tools will also have to be monitored to ensure that the approach continues to be fruitful. There are a number of site optimization and email marketing tools that are available today. Careful analysis and selection of internet marketing strategies will help ensure business success.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Company

Betty asks…

Why we choose internet marketing? please suggest me any example too?

barry0912 answers:

The Internet marketing mix that your choose is a very personal choice. Many factors go into what will work for your company; and remember what works for one company may not work for all companies. Also, I suggest, at the very least, discussing this with an Internet marketing company to ensure, you’ve covered all of your bases.

Things that affect the decision on which Internet marketing services to choose, include:
Company size
Ability of company employees (and owner) to conduct their own marketing initiatives
Goals of company (financial and non-financial)
Products and services offered
Marketing budget
Age of the company
Location of the company
Company’s reputation

Start with this process:

Come up with 3 – 5 objectives that you would like your new marketing plan to achieve and when you would like to achieve them (3 months, 6 months, 1 year)
Are they prone to take several days to make a purchase?
Do they only shop during the weekdays?
Do they own computers in their homes?
Do they have access to the Internet while at work and at home?
Do they make purchases for themselves? For their family? For their friends?
Do some demographic research to discover who your customer base is and how (or if) they make purchases online
Do some research to see what your competitors are doing and where they are advertising their products and services. Do they offer special promotions? Do they partner with other companies to offer free items or services?

Paid Search
Email Marketing
SEM
Social Media Marketing

Article Marketing
Research the different types of marketing available and how these tactics react under the circumstances that you’ve already researched above (i.e. Customer demographic, location, product/service offered, pricing, etc.); I would suggest having an Internet marketing company help you with this, you may be able to find a company that will assist you with this brainstorming and research and then will create a plan for you and send you off to implement the plan (this is a less expensive way of doing things). There are literally hundreds of tactics that can go into your

marketing mix:
Test things out, not everything on the plan may work or work well
Keep an eye out for additional marketing or promotional opportunities that may arise
Revisit your plan (with your marketing company) at least once a year or if your objectives change
Begin to implement the services that you (and your marketing firm) have come up with

Jenny asks…

Is Online Shopping relate to Internet Marketing?

Is Online Shopping relate to Internet Marketing?

Can you give me the reasons why it relate??

barry0912 answers:

Sure they relate. Company’s use online Marketing to either get you to buy online or to buy over the phone. For instance if I was working for a Mortgage Company, I would advertise low rates. I would than post these rates with a link that includes the name of my mortgage company on common real estate websites. On my own company website I might include a free quote analysis but than post a 1-800 number. After you do the free online quote you would probably have questions. So you call the 1-800 number and talk to a mortgage officer. This potential sale became possible because I had posted a Marketing link on a website with the target demographic.

Your Questions About Internet Marketing Blog

Paul asks…

Internet marketing question?

My first time using Y!Answers so here goes:

I would like to know where i could find data, statistics about how implementation of various features in a website affects its traffic and bounce rate.

More detailed: i would like to know what is , on average, the potential gain in traffic of an online shopping web site for certain implemented features: polls, quizzes, personal blogs.

Thank you.

barry0912 answers:

I highly recommend Marketing Sherpa; http://www.marketingsherpa.com/

They have very useful statistics and metric data on what you’re looking for. My suggestions is that you simply start implementing the features you mentioned one by one and measure them with web analytics. Statistics are useful, and should be used as a general guideline. Online shopping is a very unique beast; every industry, every niche and even categories within niches, will always present quite different behaviors and performances, which are highly influenced by demographics, seasonality and other metrics.

At our agency, we are constantly optimizing our client’s websites beyond search. Conversion optimization is a key factor when it comes to shopping websites. Polls, quizzes, blogs, reviews, testimonials, etc, all play a role in it, but don’t always apply to every site.

Make this part of your interactive marketing efforts and you’ll be successful.

Your Questions About Low Cost Auto Insurance

Carol asks…

What auto insurance offices offer reduced cost auto insurance program in the San Fernando Valley?

Details below if you do not know which one I am referring to?
I’m not talking about the cliche “low cost auto insurance” that is available to everyone. etc…I’m talking about a specific plan offered by the state of California available at some insurance offices for low income individuals. I found one office with it, it isn’t close enough, does anyone know of any more offices ?

“The California Low Cost
Automobile Insurance Program (LCA):
The California Low Cost Automobile Insurance Pilot
Program, created in 1999, established a lowcost
automobile insurance policy for residents of Los Angeles
County and the City and County of San Francisco.
California Law requires that all drivers be insured.
However, too many low-income drivers remain uninsured
because the costs of standard auto insurance premiums
are beyond their financial reach. The program’s purpose
is to provide lowcost automobile liability insurance to
good drivers who demonstrate financial need.

barry0912 answers:

It’s my understanding that the program is only available to those that are certifiably below the poverty level and the liability limits are reduced even lower than what is normally required by the State of California.

I’m a Texas agent but have a lot of friends that are agents or brokers in CA and they tell me that they do not HAVE to sell it and choose NOT to since it IS a low premium product (hence low commission to them) and they cannot charge any broker fee.

Irregardless of how far the agent that you FOUND that WILL write the program, you may be compelled to use them. It’s either that or ask around to someone you know that might have the program – perhaps they can point you in the right direction. You might also contact your Department of Insurance in Sacramento for a list of qualified agents.

Good luck and I hope this helps!
